Digital Broadcast Specialist (Engineering Division)
AETN, the PBS system serving Arkansas, seeks a full time broadcast equipment maintenance technician. This position requires the ability to act independently following verbal and written direction from supervisors and manufacturer’s literature, to install and make repairs to broadcast equipment used in all facets of the statewide public broadcasting network.
STATE MINIMUM QUALIFICTIONS: The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma; plus two years of experience in electronics repair and maintenance or related area. PREFERRED: Two years previous experience working as an electronic bench technician diagnosing and repairing electronic equipment. Modern broadcast equipment is highly computer based, therefore the successful candidate must demonstrate excellent IT networking and repair skills. Working knowledge of broadcast network control functions, equipment, software programs and systems as applied to the effective production and delivery of television signals is desired. Ability to quickly assess problematic situations, formulate and implement effective solutions, articulate and document discrepancies and work around major problems is critical. Solid interpersonal, organization and communication skills are important. Background check is required. Salary range: $33,861 - $46,730 (Grade C118) DOE. Review begins 12/05/14.
