To be considered for this honor, Mrs. Jerry submitted an application addressing how she leads innovation and digital teaching in her classroom and school by promoting student engagement and achievement with year-long, hands-on and virtual professional development opportunities. As PBS DigitalLearning Media Digital Innovator, Mrs. Jerry was selected from a pool of hundreds of leading American teachers by an esteemed group of judges.
Sarah Jerry says that the best part of her job at Greenbrier Eastside Elementary is inspiring her students to find their passion for learning. She strives to research and utilize strategies that allow students to be enthusiastically engaged every day and hopes to empower students to go beyond assigned classrooms activities to take ownership of their own learning.
Mrs. Jerry uses AETN PBS LearningMedia’
s PBS Math Clu

As a 2014 PBS LearningMedia Digital Innovator, Mrs. Jerry will receive year-long professional development opportunities that include virtual trainings, access to premium and exclusive resources, and invitations to special events. Additionally, the top 16 applicants will serve as leads for the program and will receive an all-expense paid trip to Washington, D.C., to participate in a two-day digital education summit where participants will engage in hands-on learning, collaborate with peers and attend conferences with digital technology thought leaders.
We wish Mrs. Jerry the best of luck in the final portion of the competition and thank her for all of her outstanding work! She and all of Arkansas’s educators fulfill a vital role in our children’s lives, and we’re forever grateful for their dedication.
