Looking back - "Learn the Address" Campaign in review

Since November 2013, we’ve been discussing the “Learn the Address” campaign and the premiere of Ken Burn’s latest film, “The Address,” with you and viewers around the state. So, what’s come of the last six months of work and sharing? Great results, in our opinion!

As of April 22 (although we’ve had a few calls about more on the way) nearly 200 Arkansans have participated in the “Learn the Address” campaign - submitting more than 130 individual videos. We’ve had individuals of all ages, stages and interests share their videos with us, and watching them couldn’t be more fun!

We heard from the Dalton Whetstone Boys & Girls Club …

Friends like Michel Leidermann and Steve Barnes from AETN programs “El Latino” and “Arkansas Week”

Arkansas politicians, including Rep. Deborah Ferguson and Rep. Bruce Westerman, among many others …

And even former President Bill Clinton!

We’re so glad that these friends and many others chose to partner with us in this program and to take a small step in bringing an important period of American history to life for a new generation. This has been an interesting topic to discuss, as we’ve seen on Facebook, and we’re proud to open this opportunity for dialogue between viewers.

What about you? Did you participate in the “Learn the Address” campaign or watch Ken Burns’ “The Address”? Tell us what you thought, and what you think Arkansans can take away from the discussion in the comments!

Watch even more Arkansans’ videos and submit your own at aetn.org/learntheaddress.
