Today was a special day for me. It was the first time I got to go on a video shoot. My producer and internship supervisor Kevin and I went to a lumber mill just outside of Conway to get footage we needed to complete the package I have been working on for “Agri Arkansas.” Kevin essentially handed me the reigns, letting me shoot what I wanted from whatever angles I wanted. He gave me tips and advice along the way, and that helped tremendously.
We were there for about two hours, getting shots of people and machinery all across the mill. I got some really good footage, including a welder lighting up a whole room with his torch, a truck pulling five large stacks of lumber and a man sharpening blades by hand, among many others.
I learned a lot about shooting video, and also some about lumber mills. I loved getting to experience this, as it will prove to be very useful in the future. I plan to take what Kevin taught me and apply that to my future work, as well. Kevin was kind enough to take photos of me while I was working, so enjoy those as well!
I’ll be back soon with my final (hard to believe) blog entry soon. Stay tuned!
