Cat in the Hat to visit Fort Smith, Saturday, April 13
Posted on 04 Apr 2013
Join us and enjoy photos with Cat, screenings of "The Cat in the Hat Knows a Lot About That!," story time with Dr. Seuss books, face painting and more! We'll also be collecting new and gently used books to donate to the Boys & Girls Club.
On top of being one of the most beloved characters of all time, Cat in the Hat and "The Cat in the Hat Knows a Lot About That!" help fill an important gap in children's science learning. This PBS program was created in response to recent findings that children graduating from kindergarten were less prepared to learn about science than about other subjects. "Cat in the Hat Knows a Lot About That!" helps encourage scientific learning by introducing scientific inquiry skills, teaching core science concepts and vocabulary and prepping preschoolers for kindergarten and first grade science material.
Join us to celebrate Cat's accomplishments and have lots of wonderful, Seussian fun! We'll be ready for you bright and early in the Forth Smith Public Library at 3201 Rogers Avenue.
