The results are official, and the findings couldnt be betterCurious George helps teach math and science concepts to preschoolers! A study by the Concord Evaluation Group found that "watching 'Curious George' episodes resulted in a knowledge boost for the children in the Television Group."
The last time I watched "Curious George" was about seven hours ago (and then 24 hours before that and so on and so on…) and caught a bit of what the study talks about of course (as did my kids) but I also admired the patience of that yellow hatted fella. George was making a tomato snowman and had virtually destroyed that cute and somehow spacious New York kitchen yet he had the patience of a yellow-winged/hatted angel when he saw the dismay on sweet primate's little mug. Lesson #1 for mom: no freak-outs no matter how stressful the holidays are - things could be worse, you could have a curious monkey living with you. Lesson #2 for mom: Curious George is a safe destination for the little monkeys in your life. Just hide the tomatoes.
