"Downton Abbey Revisited" Special & Season 3 Member Gift!

Posted on 20 Nov 2012

Hugh Bonneville (Lord Grantham) reveals his "Free Bates" tee.

All right, everyone. We've kept this fabulous secret to ourselves for as long as we possibly could. Tune in Sunday, Nov. 25, at 8 p.m. for, first of all, a spectacular "Downton Abbey" special featuring interviews with many of the  series' most popular actors, as well as Julian Fellowes and the creative team. And what could be better than that? What would you say if we told you that you could get the entire "Downton Abbey: Season 3" DVD or BluRayset - before the episodes are ever aired in the U.S.?

We'll give you a moment to recover from the shock. (Or scream. Or do your own little happy dance.)

As a special pledge gift, PBS has negotiated an exclusive deal with "Downton Abbey," and we couldn't be more excited! With your pledge to AETN during the broadcast of "Downton Abbey Revisted" (airing from 8-9:30 p.m. and again from 9:30-11 p.m.), as a special member gift, we'll be able to send you your very own, fresh from the presses, set of Season 3 DVDs or BluRays.

Just think of it! Maggie Smith in all her imperious glory going toe-to-toe with Shirley MacLaine. New tragedies (of course). Wedding bells (possibly … actually, better be after all of this!). Love. Loss. New characters. High drama. And - we're hoping, anyway - that elusive lucky break for Bates and Anna!

We're just speculating, but we're ready. And, if you can't bear to wait any longer, you won't have to speculate for very long at all!

Of course, on top of this tantalizing treat, there's also the program itself! Tune in for chats with Dame Maggie Smith, Elizabeth McGovern, Hugh Bonneville, Dan Stevens, Michelle Dockery, Joanne Froggatt, Jim Carter, Siobhan Finneran and more as they discuss their favorite moments from season 1 and 2. You'll get the inside scoop on character interactions, cast camaraderie, costuming envy and woes, and the high fashion the show's inspired.

As if that weren't enough, the program's creators, Julian Fellowes and Gareth Neame, also appear to reveal the inspiration behind the series' origins and their vision for the future. The creative team also lets us have a peek at rare, behind-the-scenes footage and juicy, exclusive sneak peeks of Season 3!

Another reason to love this special episode even more? One of our favorites, Angela Lansbury, is a devoted "Downton Abbey" fan, and she'll be narrating. You'd think we'd spent an evening with Lady Mary and gone right on up to heaven!
