apps-bannerTechnology and media consumption is changing at a rapid pace. We at AETN and PBS recognize the importance of keeping up with these trends, and we understand that more and more people are getting their content from mobile devices. So, in order to meet these trends head on, we have developed mobile applications that allow our viewers to receive our great content on the go.

PBS has released two new apps: one for either your iPhone and iPod Touch, and one for your iPad. Both apps allow you to view PBS and AETN content on the go.

With the new iPhone and iPod Touch app, you can watch the most popular and current PBS programs free with minimal interruption. The PBS app features more than 300 videos, including full-length episodes, segments and previews with new content updated daily.

Some of the cool things you can do with the app, are:

  • Create reminders for favorite shows in your iCal calendar app.
  • Quickly access TV times and channels for your favorite PBS programs.
  • See what’s on your local PBS station and what’s coming soon.
  • Learn more about PBS programs and specific episodes.
  • Bookmark favorite programs and episodes for easy retrieval.
  • Share videos with friends on Facebook, Twitter and e-mail.
  • Purchase episodes and seasons that you’d like to own.

With the new iPad app, you can do everything the new PBS iPhone/iPod Touch app provides, but you’ll get a more immersed experience, due to the large size of the screen.

Some of the features it includes are:

  • Quick access to TV times and channels for your favorite PBS programs.

We at AETN have also developed an iPhone and iPod Touch app that allows you to quickly access the schedule of all three of AETN’s channels, our Engage blog, YouTube videos, Twitter updates, and much more. There is also built-in sharing, which allows you to share AETN links with your friends on Facebook, Twitter, or via e-mail.
