Community Cinema "Solar Mamas" Oct. 30 (NLR)

Join AETN, KUAR and the William F. Laman Library for a Community Cinema screening of our newest film, "Solar Mamas."

Follow as Rafea, a 30-year-old mother of four, travels outside of her Jordanian village for the first time in her life. At the solar engineering program of India's Barefoot College, Rafea will join poor, rural women like her from Guatemala, Kenya, Burkina Faso and Colombia to learn concrete skills. Rafea looks forward to using her newfound skills to change her community, but shortly into the program, she encounters a problem. Will she be able to overcome it?

AETN, KUAR 89.1 FM and the William F. Laman Library of North Little Rock will screen the film Tuesday, Oct. 30, at 6 p.m. The screening will be held in library room 126. A discussion about the film and related issues will follow immediately after.
