Labor Day weekend is almost upon us! To celebrate, AETN brings you a weekend of special programming you wont see anywhere else.
First, after a few weeks of during our pledge drive, Saturday, Sept. 1, marks the return of your favorite British comedies. Youll be able to watch As Time Goes By, starting with the very first episode, at 8:30 p.m. Favorites like Lawrence Welk and Lark Rise to Candleford return to their normal times as well.
Sunday, Sept. 2 continues the Labor Day festivities. Watch the entire series of How To Travel The World For Free in a special marathon starting at 1:30 p.m. and it wouldnt be Labor Day weekend without somebody doing actual labor! At 4 p.m., were showing the documentary Tradesmen: Making An Art of Work.
One of the AETNs most requested shows lately has been the Johnny Cash Music Festival. Shot last fall on the campus of Arkansas State University, this program brings together legendary musicians Kris Kristofferson, George Jones, Rodney Crowell, Rosanne Cash and John Carter Cash in a one-hour special that includes music and stories about the late country legend. The Johnny Cash Music Festival airs Sunday, Sept. 2, at 6 p.m.
Next, at 7 p.m., you can enjoy Royal Memories: Prince Charles Tribute to the Queen. In this touching, personal film, Charles, Prince of Wales, reflects on Her Majestys 60-year reign both as the nations queen and as his mother.
Programming from across the pond continues with a new Doc Martin at 8 p.m., followed by Masterpiece Mystery, Inspector Lewis: The Gift of Promise at 9 p.m.
Finally, at 10:30 p.m., we have another great special, Love Never Dies, the sequel to The Phantom Of The Opera.
All in all, it boils down to a great weekend of programming from AETN! We hope you enjoy a safe, relaxing holiday weekend. (And, of course, we hope youll spend it with us!)
