AETN, Jones Center set Family Day March 22 in Springdale
The Arkansas Educational Television Network (AETN) brings its award-winning AETN Family Day to the Jones Center for Families in Springdale Tuesday, March 22, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
This free event is open to the public and part of Spring Break Week at the Jones Center, 922 East Emma Avenue in Springdale. This is the fourth year that AETN and the Jones Center have partnered for Family Day.
Traveling to the Jones Center with AETN will be PBS Kids favorites Clifford the Big Red Dog, Buddy from Dinosaur Train, Dog from WordWorld, Sid the Science Kid and The Cat in the Hat. Activities planned include:
• Build a word with Dog.
• Make puppy chow (a sweet snack mix) with Clifford.
• Story time, rhyming and a Dr. Seuss birthday party with The Cat in the Hat.
• Sing along with Buddy the dinosaur.
• Broomball from 3:30-5 p.m.
• Photo booth from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
• Inflatables all day.
Additionally, Freddy Fusion science magic shows will be held at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Tickets are required and available beginning at 8 a.m. day of show.
Throughout the day, kids will have the opportunity to take pictures with the characters, color, read, play, swim, ice skate and find other ways to celebrate spring break. Kids will also have the opportunity to sign up for the free AETN KIDS GO! Club (www.aetn.org/kids), which features games, videos, a book club and more.
The Jones Center for Families was founded in 1995 by Bernice Jones as a safe harbor for the entire Northwest Arkansas community where families and groups could come together to do those things which make the community a better place to live. The center provides a multigenerational, social, educational and recreational facility where all are welcome. This nonprofit organization is led by a community board. Its mission is to serve families, strengthen community and glorify God.
