AETN receives $750,000 USDA grant Funds designated for maximization of broadcast power in Jonesboro

The grant will be used to maximize the broadcast coverage area of the KTEJ digital transmitter near Jonesboro.

By increasing the broadcast power at KTEJ DT we will enhance our signals in the existing viewing areas of Northeast Arkansas and extend our coverage beyond the area currently served, AETN Executive Director Allen Weatherly said. KTEJ will continue to broadcast on the same channel, 19, with three program streams.

AETN is one of only 10 applicants chosen nationwide to receive funding. Applications were scored on rurality, economic need and critical need. Maximization will occur on or before Sept. 3, 2011.

The Arkansas Educational Television Network (www.aetn.org) provides lifelong learning opportunities, improves and enhances Arkansans lives and celebrates the unique culture of Arkansas through its programming and services. AETNs transmitters and numerous cable system connections give it statewide reach.
