AETN’s ‘Minority Matters’ discusses 2012 election cycle Oct. 28

CONWAY, Ark. (AETN) — The Arkansas Educational Television Network’s (AETN) monthly series “Minority Matters,” which provides a dedicated forum for discussion and exploration of issues affecting Arkansans from a minority perspective, will explore local and national 2012 elections in the next episode, Sunday, Oct. 28, at 4:30 p.m.

Panelists will discuss treatment of minorities by political parties, when Arkansans are likely to elect an African-American to statewide office, and the current political climate’s effect on minorities.

Sharing their experiences and political expertise will be: Lamar Davis, deputy chief of staff, Arkansas Governor’s Office; Price Dooley, professor, UCA Department of Political Science; and Malcolm Glover, anchor/reporter, KUAR.

“Minority Matters” host Sylvester Smith is a local businessman and community leader. Smith publishes the Web-based ink Magazine and serves on the Arkansas Real Estate Commission. He is a graduate of Philander Smith College and earned his MBA at Harding University.

“Minority Matters” airs the last Sunday of each month at 4:30 p.m.
