‘AETN Presents: On the Front Row With WoodSongs Old-Time Radio Hour’ to Air Nov. 16

CONWAY, Ark. (AETN) — As part of the fall 2012 season of “AETN Presents: On the Front Row,” the Arkansas Educational Television Network (AETN), will air a special thirty-minute broadcast of folksinger Michael Jonathan’s “WoodSongs Old Time Radio Hour” March 2012 visit to the University of Central Arkansas Reynolds Performance Hall. “AETN Presents: On the Front Row With WoodSongs Old-Time Radio Hour” will air Friday, Nov. 16, at 6:30 p.m. and repeat Sunday, Nov. 18, at 1 a.m. following “Austin City Limits.”

Highlighting three performances from the special UALR Public Radio KUAR FM 89.1 production, “AETN Presents: On the Front Row With WoodSongs Old-Time Radio Hour,” features youthful bluegrass upstarts Blue Rain, fiddle champion Tim Crouch, and young bluesman and harmonica-phenom Nathan A. Each talented musician delivers his own exciting interpretation of Arkansas roots music, providing a night of varied and engaging entertainment.

A weekly showcase for American musicians combining performances and interviews, the “WoodSongs Old-Time Radio Hour” is recorded before a live audience by a volunteer staff. The nationally syndicated program is based in Lexington, Ky., and airs on KUAR FM 89.1 each Thursday at 8 p.m. Additional information is available at woodsongs.com.

“AETN Presents” features a variety of arts and cultural subjects. Previously included in the series have been the Arkansas Acoustic Festival; performances by the Cate Brothers, Wayland Holyfield and friends, Trout Fishing in America, Dale Hawkins, Shannon Boshears Band, The Salty Dogs and Epiphany; and “On the Same Page” with authors Buzz Bissinger, Billy Collins, John T. Edge and Kenneth L. Smith.
