Hermans Hermits: Listen People 1964-1969 to air on AETN Nov. 29

Hermans Hermits: Listen People 1964-1969 sets the record straight on one of the most underrated bands of the 1960s Thursday, Nov. 29, at 7 p.m. on the Arkansas Educational Television Network (AETN). The program repeats Monday, Dec. 3, at 10 p.m.

Second only to The Beatles in record sales, Hermans Hermits recorded some of the 60s most memorable songs. Their first record, Im Into Something Good, was released in 1964 and rocketed to No. 1 in the United Kingdom and No. 13 in the United States, but the band proved to be much more than a pop sensation. Their carefully crafted music is the highlight of this insightful program, which features more than 22 complete performances captured on film. Songs include classic hits Im Into Something Good, Cant You Hear My Heartbeat, Wonderful World, Mrs. Brown Youve Got a Lovely Daughter, Im Henry VIII, I Am, Theres a Kind of Hush and more.

The musical celebration continues Nov. 29 with John Sebastian Presents: Folk Rewind at 8:30 p.m. Folk legend John Sebastian reflects and remembers the very best of the folk years through highlights archival folk (traditional, pop and folk rock) era classics from the vault. The special culminates into a crescendo of excitement with a reunion of folk singers, including: Barry McGuire, Roger McGuinn of The Byrds, The Chad Mitchell Trio, Chad & Jeremy, Jesse Colin Young of The Youngbloods, and more.
