Cat in the Hat events in Arkansas, March 2 marathon

Posted 31 Jan 2012

Tune into AETN for the Cat in the Hat-A-Thon, a two-hour event premiering on PBS KIDS March 2. AETN will host screenings of “The Cat in the Hat Knows a Lot About That!” and a visit from the Cat costume character in Little Rock, El Dorado and Jonesboro Feb. 20-24.

The Cat in the Hat-A-Thon celebrates the National Education Association’s Read Across America initiative, an annual motivation and awareness program that calls for every child in every community to celebrate reading on March 2, the birthday of Dr. Seuss. The two-hour marathon features four episodes of “The Cat in the Hat Knows a Lot About That!”

Episodes include:

  • “Seasons”
  • “When I Grow UP/Doing it Differently“
  • “Hooray for Hair”/”Ice is Nice”
  • “Chasing Rainbows”/”Follow the Prints”

Find activities, games, and printables to go along with the episodes here.

For teachers, parents who need Read Across America activities, visit the National Education Association and PBS Teachers and PBS Parents.
