The Cat in the Hat is coming to Fort Smith April 19
Posted on 15 Apr 2014
Friends in Fort Smith and northwest Arkansas, your favorite chapeau-ed feline is making a visit! In partnership with Mercy Northwest Arkansas
and Mercy Kids
, we’re bringing the star of “The Cat in the Hat Knows a Lot About That!” to Fort Smith Public Library
for a free event Saturday, April 19, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
So what sort of fun, Seussian shenanigans can you expect? On top of having photos made with Cat in the Hat, we’ll have story time with Dr. Seuss books, show special episodes of “The Cat in the Hat Knows a Lot About That!”
and other fun surprises throughout the day.
In addition to promoting literacy at this event, we’re proud to join our friends at Mercy Northwest Arkansas and PBS to help preschoolers across the state learn more about science. “The Cat in the Hat Knows a Lot About That!”
was created to support young children’s science learning by introducing scientific inquiry skills, teaching core science concepts and vocabulary and preparing preschoolers for kindergarten and first grade science curriculum — all in Seuss’ classic, whimsical style.

- Thank You... My grandson Cameron had a great time getting his picture taken with The Cat in the Hat. We had to come home and read all of our Cat in the Hat books. It brought back wonderful memories. I thank you for the information packet. - Vickie Jones
