AETN Foundation donates televisions to tornado victims
The Arkansas Educational Television Network Foundation recently donated 32 used televisions to Manna from Heaven, a non-profit organization based in Morrilton, that is acting as a distribution center for donations to the state’s tornado victims.
The televisions were in place with the AETN Foundation until recently when they were tagged to be taken out of service.
"Though these televisions are used, we felt that they could still be of use to the victims of the devastating tornadoes that Arkansas has suffered this year," AETN Foundation Director Mona Dixon said. "The Sanyo Corporation donated these televisions to the AETN Foundation years ago.
"As they were being replaced in our facilities, we felt that we should echo the Sanyo Corporation’s generosity and provide these to Arkansans in need. We’re grateful that the United Way of Central Arkansas and Manna from Heaven were willing and able to facilitate this for us."
Manna from Heaven was grateful for the donation.
"I know a lot of families who will really appreciate these televisions," Bill Harmon, a Manna from Heaven representative, said. "I watch AETN all of the time.
"It provides a good service for everyone."
The AETN Foundation exists solely to raise funds necessary to support the programs and services that AETN provides to Arkansans.
The Arkansas Educational Television Network (www.aetn.org) provides lifelong learning opportunities, improves and enhances Arkansans’ lives and celebrates the unique culture of Arkansas through its programming and services. AETN’s digital and analog transmitters and numerous cable system connections give it statewide reach.
