Green elected AETN Commission officer for second term
Mary Beth Green of Van Buren has been elected to serve a second term as secretary/treasurer of the Arkansas Educational Television Network Commission.
"Public television and the services AETN provides are important to Arkansans," Green said. "It's a pleasure to serve on this commission and help meet the state's educational needs."
Other officers elected to a second term were Don Hale, El Dorado, chairman; and Sammie Benjamin, Glenwood, vice chairman.
Green, District 3 representative, was appointed to the commission on April 28, 2005.
Hale, District 4 representative, was appointed to the commission on June 1, 2001. He also serves as the AETN Commission representative on the AETN Foundation Board of Directors.
Benjamin, District 4 public school representative, was originally appointed to the commission on Jan. 20, 1999. She was reappointed on March 23, 2003.
Other commission members are: Billie Sue Hoggard, Jonesboro; William Downs Jr., Arkadelphia; Jane Krutz, Little Rock; Sandy Landers, Little Rock; and Ronnie Williams, Menifee.
"AETN is fortunate to have such a strong committee working to further the mission of public broadcasting for Arkansans," AETN Executive Director Allen Weatherly said. "We look forward to sharing many more ideas and successes with them."
