LISA Academy finished as runners up in the 1A conference finals of the Arkansas Governor’s Academic Competition Quiz Bowl Sunday, April 20, against Haas Hall Academy. The final score was 300 to 215. The team includes: Bijal Shah, Fatima Ugur, Lillian Tong, Captain Abubakar Abid, Vihitha Thota, Coach Emin Cavvsoglu; Coach Suzanne Roger, J.D. Francisco, Jesse Jones and Sreesh Reddy. The Arkansas Educational Television Network has hosted and aired the live competition since 1985. Students were challenged with difficult questions in literature, math, science, history, art, music and economics. This year, the top two teams from each of the seven conferences advanced to the State Conference Finals, resulting in seven champions.
