Woodlawn High School claimed the 2A conference title in the Arkansas Governor’s Academic Competition Quiz Bowl Sunday, April 20, against Parkers Chapel. The final score was 215 to 190. The team includes: Coach Reasa Britt, Rebecca Handly; Jody Mercer, Captain and MVP Justin Bird and Jordan Bird. The Arkansas Educational Television Network has hosted and aired the live competition since 1985. Students were challenged with difficult questions in literature, math, science, history, art, music and economics. This year, the top two teams from each of the seven conferences advanced to the State Conference Finals, resulting in seven champions.
