AETN Arts Fridays Dares to Be Different
This AETN Arts Friday, celebrate artists with definite reputations for being different! The evening kicks off with AETN Presents: On the Front Row With Toadsuck Symphony at 6:30 p.m. and follows with "Margaret Mitchell: American Rebel" at 9 p.m.
Taking their name from the historic Arkansas River crossing (recently voted the most unfortunately named town in America), Toadsuck Symphony has entertained audiences with their special brand of newgrass music for more than 25 years. The band, which still boasts four of its five original members, draws from a wide variety of musical influence and continues searching for material that keeps listeners guessing! See the fun and delightfully funky product for yourself on tonights episode.
Be sure to rejoin our arts programming at 9 p.m. for an American Masters profile of a true original. Though Margaret Mitchell only enjoyed a short life, she was no ordinary writer and no ordinary woman. The dramatic, seminal events of her life provide material as fascinating as the enduring characters she created in her master work, Gone With the Wind. A charismatic force to be reckoned with, from the very beginning, Mitchell proved a challenge to the stifling social restrictions of Atlantas upper crust in the early 1900s. Peeking into the eventso f her incredible and outstanding work is a special treat!
