Taped before an enthusiastic audience in AETN's Conway studios, AETN Presents: On the Front Row With The Sara Thomas Band features Thomas, vocals and rhythm guitar; Dave Hoffpauir on drums; Chris Michaels on bass and Ben Harris on guitar. The Sara Thomas Band produces a sound described as folk, popo, country and bluegrass infused with just enough rock influence. A Benton native and 2003 Arkansas Acoustic Festival finalist, Thomas has been writing songs since age 21. The combination of the bands talents promises an exciting show and unique sound.
Of course, its hard to imagine whose sound has influenced modern music more than Paul McCartney! At the forefront of the rock 'n roll revolution that changed popular music forever in his early career with The Beatles, Paul McCartney has continued to push boundaries for over 40 years as a solo artist, a member of his second group Wings, and an award-winning composer for classical and dance. Tonight, in Great Performances: Paul McCartneys Live Kisses, Paul performs pieces from his latest adventure, Kisses on the Bottom, a collection of standards beloved to McCartney since childhood, along with two of his own new songs, "My Valentine" and "Only Our Hearts." Produced with the help of Grammy Award-winning producer Tommy LiPuma and Diana Krall and her band, "Kisses on the Bottom" is the first record in McCartney's historic oeuvre to feature him almost exclusively on vocals. The intimate concert, recorded at the historic Capitol Studios in Los Angeles, also features Pauls standards, including "I'm Gonna Sit Right Down and Write Myself a Letter," "It's Only a Paper Moon," "Always," "Bye Bye Blackbird" and more.
