Arts Fridays Bluegrass Music and a World Premier Opera
Tune in to AETN Arts Fridays this Friday, May 18, at 6:30 p.m. for "AETN Presents: On the Front Row With 3 Penny Acre" and 9:00 p.m. for "Great Performances at the Met: The Enchanted Island." From unique bluegrass music by the four-member Ozark band to the Metropolitan Operas world premier of "The Enchanted Island," youre sure to enjoy an evening of fabulous music.
At 6:30 p.m., "AETN Presents: On the Front Row With 3 Penny Acre" will showcase the Arkansas ensemble, 3 Penny Acre. The inspired musical collaboration between four up-and-coming songwriters combines each members talents, forming the Ozark bands unique blend of songwriting and vocals.
At 9 p.m., "Great Performances at the Met: The Enchanted Island," a world premiere work that combines Baroque music with a new, English-language libretto, will feature characters from Shakespeares The Tempest and A Midsummer Nights Dream. Brought to life by an outstanding cast, the performance will star Danielle de Niese, Joyce DiDonato, David Daniels, Luca Pisaroni, and special guest Plácido Domingo.
