‘AETN Presents’ is going to break new ground and provide an incredible performance opportunity for the many talented singer/songwriters and musicians in Arkansas. The Kat Hood Trio is truly honored to have been invited to lead off this series that will bring Arkansas talent state and regional exposure.
The Kat Hood Trio is based in Central Arkansas and features Kat Hood (center) on acoustic guitar and vocals, Chuck Gilbert (right) on lead acoustic guitar and vocals, and Eric Nolen (left) on bass and vocals.
About the Show:
The Arkansas Educational Television Network is proud to present an evening with the Kat Hood Trio, Wednesday, Aug. 18, at 6:30 p.m. As featured guests of “AETN Presents,” the group performed in AETN’s studios as a kickoff event for the series’ expanded programming, which now includes a variety of arts and cultural subjects.
“You will want to watch this standout series every month for an eclectic burst of Arkansas talent“– fresh faces and superstars alike,” AETN’s Production Director Carole Adornetto said.
The Kat Hood Trio is based in Central Arkansas and has varied backgrounds and influences. Winners of the 2002 UCA Arkansas Acoustic Festival group competition, the group features Kat Hood on acoustic guitar and vocals, Chuck Gilbert on lead acoustic guitar and vocals, and Eric Nolen on bass and vocals.
“The Kat Hood Trio is truly honored to have been invited to lead off this series that will bring Arkansas talent state and regional exposure,” Hood said. “I’m predicting that it won’t take long for word to get out that ‘AETN Presents’ is where you’ll find some of the best talent in the state.

Audience members who attended the performance were treated to a unique blend of rock, country, blues and folk with songs such as Fences, Give Me What I Need, Comfort Zone and Somewhere Over the Rainbow.
“I’m really excited that we had the opportunity to perform for a studio audience,” Hood said. “This allowed the performers and the audience an intimate experience that only a live performance can bring.”
Those who attended the taping agreed. “My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the taping of the Kat Hood Trio,” Nancy Allison said.”“She is a talented singer/songwriter, and the Trio has a wonderful musical sound.
“‘AETN Presents’ is a winner with their efforts to publicize and encourage acoustic music in Arkansas. I plan to encourage others to tune in to ‘AETN Presents’ to find out about and enjoy’– if they don’t already know – the excellent programming coming from Arkansas’ public television network.” Louise Tribble voiced a similar opinion.
“My husband and I think it is great that AETN is giving local talent a chance to be seen and heard,” she said. “We encourage everyone to tune in and watch ‘AETN Presents’ because people will be surprised at the quality of talent in Arkansas.”
Previously included in the “AETN Presents” series were the Arkansas Acoustic Festival and authors John Jeremiah Sullivan and Sandra Cisneros. Future projects planned for “AETN Presents” include new authors and performances in the fall and a Christmas music gala at Reynolds Performance Hall.
