Arkansas Week 25th Anniversary
"I'd like to offer my congratulations to Arkansas Week for
being around for 25 years and occasionally having me here
for roughly half of them. Just think, Arkansas Week has
been around longer than Mike Huckabee."
-David Keith
"For 25 years Arkansas Week is one of two things that has
kept me home on most Friday nights. The other was being
married."
-Roy Ockert
"Over the last quarter century the political conversations
have become increasingly confrontational and adverserial and
argumenative. I'm delighted that Arkansas Week has remained
true to it's commitment providing dispationate discussion
and analysis on Friday evenings, keeping us informed and
enlighted about our state and it's politics."
-Hal Bass
"Thanks to a quarter century of Arkansas Week covering the
excitment of Arkansas politics and business."
-Jay Barth
"I've been a fan of Arkansas Week for all of it's 25 years, I
suspect. And it's been a great source of perspective on
Arkansas news and events."
-Brenda Blagg
"For 25 years Arkansas Week has given you the most unique
perspective in the state. From the grid iron to the
capitol. They have all the news here."
-Joseph Halm
"I'm Hoyt Purvis and I've been privaleged to be a part of
Arkansas Week for most of the 25 years it's been on the air.
And I'm always impressed when I travel around the state how
many people watch Arkansas Week and depend on it as a source
of important information."
-Hoyt Purvis
"I'm Doug Thompson, and I'm a columnist for the Morning News
in the Arkansas News Bureau. And one of the things that has
always impressed me about Arkansas Week is the length that
it will go to bring people from around the state from
different areas to meet and talk about their views. I
appreciate and I know of viewers who have stopped me on the
sidewalk and in stores who have appreciated it also."
-Doug Thompson
"I'm Jeff Hankins, publisher of Arkansas Business. I've
appeared on Arkansas Week for the past fourteen years. I
think it's the one show state wide that brings every corner
of the state together once a week to talk about the curren
business, political, and general issues of the day that
people are talking about and want to be informed about. And
that's why I really appreciate Arkansas Week."
-Jeff Hankins
"Hello, I'm Larry Fugate, Editor of the Pine Bluff
Commercial. And I've been practicing journalism in Arkansas
for more than fourty years. Thank you AETN for Arkansas
Week, for bringing the view from the main stream. "
-Larry Fugate
"Congratulations. 25 years of Arkansas Week. This is the
best program for finding out what's going on in Arkansas for
Arkansans. There's nothing like it anywhere in the state."
-Ann Clemmer
"Congratulations to Arkansas Week on celebrating 25 years of
keeping Arkansans abreast of current events."
-Whit Jones
"Congratulations to 25 years of Arkansas Week for keeping
viewers informed on all aspects of Arkansas current events,
including business."
-Lance Turner
"I remember the first show 25 years ago. The panelist were as
I recall John Ward, the editor of the Log Cabin Democrat in
Conway, Paul Greenberg, who was at that time at Pine Bluff
Commercial, and I. And the moderator was a young philosophy
Professor at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. And
the big topic was the return of Bill Clinton from the
political wilderness where the voters had exiled him two
years earlier. But none of us foresaw what was coming and
over the intervening 25 years, I don't think we've gotten
anymore clairvoyant."
-Ernie Dumas
