Celebrating Arkansas

Arkansas' fairs and festivals are snapshots of our history, culture and everyday life. The Arkansas Folk Festival in Mountain View honors traditional mountain music. Chainsaws roar and timber flies at the Arkansas State Lumberjack Championship in Sheridan. And, thousands of delicious pastries tempt visitors at the International Greek Food Festival in Little Rock. Come along as this program visits some of the hundreds of festivals held around the state each year. For a month to month listing of fairs, festivals and other celebrations held throughout Arkansas, visit The Arkansas Department of Parks and Tourism Web site. In addition to a detailed calendar of events, there is information on vacation planning, outdoors fun, attractions, lodging, dining, kids activities and much, much more. Go to www.arkansas.com.

My husband and I have attended the "Bean Fest" at Mountain View several times and can vouch for the great beans and good old-timey music around the Square and at the Pickin' Park--All free, of course!
