TRANSCRIPT

HI WELCOME BACK.

TODAY WE'RE GOING TO DO ANOTHER FUN PAINTING SO LET'S GET STARTED.

THE FIRST THING WE WANT TO DO IS COAT OUR CANVAS WITH WHITE MEDIUM SO I WILL DIP A 2" BRUSH A LITTLE BIT AND ON THE CANVAS AND RUN THE COLORS UP THERE SO YOU KNOW EXACTLY WHAT I AM USING TO PAINT THIS PAINTING.

WHITE MEDIUM IS JUST A THIN OIL BASE PAINT AND IT MAKES THE CANVAS WET AND SLICK SO WE CAN BLEND COLOR RIGHT UP HERE.

WITHOUT THIS IT WOULD BE DIFFICULT TO HAVE SOFT BLENS IN THE WATER AND THE SKY.

WE'RE LOOKING FOR A THIN COAT.

IF YOU GET TOO MUCH THE CANVAS WILL BE TOO WET AND YOU WILL END UP MIXING THE COLORS TOGETHER.

WE DON'T WANT THAT. WE JUST WANT A THIN COAT. NOW WE CAN BEGIN PAINTING OUR SKY SO I WILL LOAD UP A CLEAN 2" BRUSH WITH A LOT BIT OF BRIGHT RED AND LET'S WORK IN THE MIDDLE AND WORK OUT.

I HAVE A VERY, VERY LITTLE BIT OF PAINT ON THE BRUSH AND I AM LETTING IT BLEND WITH THE WHITE THAT WE PUT DOWN. THAT WAY IT'S NOT DARK RED BUT A LIGHT PINK COLOR.

NOW MAYBE IT'S TIME TO WE THINK ABOUT A LITTLE COLOR DOWN HERE THAT MAYBE IT WILL END UP BEING SOME WATER SO WE WILL JUST DROP IT IN.

A LITTLE BIT OF THE BRIGHT RED DOWN HERE.

NOTICE HOW I AM RELOADING QUITE A BIT, AND THAT'S A REAL GOOD THING.

LAST THING WE WANT TO DO IS ADD TOO MUCH OF THIS.

IT'S KIND OF TOUGH TO GET IT OFF THE CANVAS ONCE YOU HAVE A LOT ON THERE AND MAYBE WE WILL BRING THE SKY A LITTLE BIT FURTHER DOWN, AND LET'S HAVE IT COME OFF THE PAINTING.

THERE WE GO.

NOW, LET'S ADD THE REST OF THE SKY IN, SO I WILL LOAD UP THAT SAME 2" BRUSH WITH A LITTLE BIT OF MIDNIGHT BLACK AND PRUSSIAN BLUE AND LET'S PICK A CORNER AND START AT THE CORNER AND WORK ACROSS.

THAT WAY IT'S DARKER AT THE TOP THAN THE BOTTOM. RELOAD THE BRUSH.

HAVE A LITTLE BIT OVER HERE.

NOW THAT THE TOP IS DONE WE CAN BEGIN BLENDING IT DOWN INTO THE PINK.

USE LESS AND LESS PRESSURE AS YOU COME DOWN.

NOW THIS BLUE IS MUCH STRONGER THAN THE RED, SO IT WILL COVER IT UP, SO BE VERY CAREFUL THAT YOU DON'T LOSE ALL OF YOUR NICE GLOW IN THE SKY. IT'S VERY EASY TO COME IN HERE AND DO TOO MUCH BLUE.

THERE WE GO.

JUST A LITTLE BIT.

SET THAT BRUSH DOWN AND PICK UP A CLEAN 2" BRUSH.

YOU MAY HAVE TO WASH YOURS AND THAT IS ALL RIGHT AND I WILL JUST DO BIG OVERLAPPING "X" 'S TO BLEND OUT THE SKY.

YOU SEE I HAVE A HAIR THERE.

I WILL POP IT OUT. THERE WE GO.

NOW I'M GOING TO SHOW YOU HOW TO PAINT SOME CLOUDS SO I HAVE A 1" BRUSH NOW, AND I WILL PULL IT THROUGH A LITTLE BIT OF WHITE PAINT AND MAYBE WHITE AND A TOUCH OF BRIGHT RED, NOT MUCH, JUST A LITTLE BIT, AND I HAVE A LOT OF PAINT ON THAT BRUSH AND LET'S START HERE AND I AM ONLY USING THE CORNER OF THE BRUSH TO DROP IN THE CLOUDS.

THERE IS A TON OF TEXTURE ON THE CANVAS.

IF YOU DON'T HAVE TEXTURE THEY WON'T LOOK BRIGHT.

THAT'S OKAY. SOMETIMES THEY PUT A LOT OF TEXTURE IN THEM BUT I WANT SOME BRIGHT CLOUDS TODAY.

THERE ARE AREAS THAT IT'S THICK AND NOT THICK AND YOU HAVE A LOT OF VARIATIONS IN THE CLOUD.

IT WON'T BE ONE SOLID COLOR AND MAYBE WE WANT A LITTLE GUY UP HERE.

THERE WE GO.

NOT TOO MUCH.

OKAY.

RELOAD THAT BRUSH AND IF YOUR BRUSH PICKS UP A LOT OF THE PAINT, A LOT OF THE DARK BLUE YOU CAN KNOCK IT OFF ON YOUR PALLET AND THEN RELOAD. USE ONLY THE CORNER AND LITTLE TINY CIRCLES TO SHAPE YOUR CLOUD.

DON'T COME HERE AND JUST START SWIRLELLING HOPING FOR A CLOUD.

I AM THINKING ABOUT THE SHAPE AND GUIDING THE BRUSH AND IT GOES JUST WHERE I WANT, AND MAYBE WE WANT TO CONNECT THOSE RIGHT THERE.

I THINK THAT WOULD LOOK NICE.

ONE MORE LITTLE GUY RIGHT THERE.

THE NEXT STEP HERE IS TO BLEND THE CLOUDS SO I HAVE PICKED UP ANOTHER CLEAN 2" BRUSH, AND WE'RE GOING TO COME RIGHT IN HERE ON THE BOTTOM AND GENTLY MIX THEM UP.

I AM USING TINY CIRCLES, AND I'M ONLY WORKING ON THE BOTTOM OF THE CLOUD.

MAYBE THIS ONE NEEDS A LITTLE BLENDING TOO.

MAYBE THE MOST IMPORTANT THING HERE IS THAT WE USE THE TOP OF THE BRUSH BECAUSE IF YOU TURN IT UP AND USE THE BOTTOM LIKE THAT YOU COULD EASILY DESTROY THE TOP EDGES BECAUSE IT'S HARDER TO SEE.

AND WE CAN FLUFF THIS SIDE.

JUST GRAB IT AND LIFT UP, NOT TOO MUCH, VERY LIGHTLY BLEND ACROSS.

NOW, I WILL TAKE I 1" BRUSH AND PULL IT THROUGH SOME MIDNIGHT BLACK, DARK SIENNA AND A LITTLE BRIGHT RED AND PRUSSIAN BLUE -- REALLY ALL FOUR COLORS THAT WE'RE USING AND THEN I WILL ADD SOME WHITE TO IT AND THEN TAP THE BRUSH AND WITH THAT LET'S COME RIGHT HERE, AND JUST TAP.

WHAT I AM GOING TO GET IS A DISTANT ROLLING HILL WITH SOME TREES GROWING ON IT, SO THINK ABOUT A VERY PLEASANT SOFT ROLLING SHAPE.

THERE JUST TAP IT RIGHT IN.

THAT SIDE WILL BE COVERED WITH TREES.

WE WON'T EVEN WORRY ABOUT IT.

TAP IT IN AND THEN LIFT UP.

I'M LIFTING THAT BRUSH STRAIGHT UP TO CREATE THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS OF LITTLE TREES.

BACK TO THE 2" BRUSH THAT WE WERE BLENDING THE SKY WITH, AND I'M GOING TO TAP, AND I'M DESTROYING THE BASE BUT BECAUSE WE HAVE ALL OF THE TREE TOPS I DON'T WANT TO TOUCH THOSE AT ALL.

LEAVE THEM ALONE.

NOW I ADDED A LITTLE MORE MIDNIGHT BLACK TO THAT SAME COLOR AND LET'S ADD ANOTHER A LITTLE ROLLING HILL RIGHT HERE.

WE WILL JUST TAP IT IN THE SAME WAY.

LOOK HOW IT'S DARKER SO IT MAKES IT LOOK CLOSER.

IF THIS WAS THE SAME COLOR THEN THAT WOULD JUST LOOK LIKE A VERY TALL HILL BACK THERE.

IT WOULDN'T LOOK ANY CLOSER SO MAKE SURE IT'S A LITTLE DARKER THAN THE ONE BEHIND IT.

MAYBE IT EVEN COMES DOWN LIKE THAT.

MOST OF THIS PROBABLY GET COVERED UP. ALL RIGHT.

SAME WAY.

LIFT UP. GRAB IT AND LIFT UP.

JUST LIKE BEFORE WE WILL TAP OUT THE BOTTOM OF THE MOUNTAIN TO GET THAT VERY SOFT MISTY LAYER. NOW I'M GOING TO SHOW YOU HOW TO MAKE SOME TREES WITH A LITTLE MORE DETAIL SO I WILL LOAD UP THE FAN BRUSH WITH SOME OF THAT SAME COLOR, MAYBE A LITTLE MORE MIDNIGHT BLACK AND DARK SIENNA TO IT, AND LET'S START RIGHT HERE.

I'M GOING TO TOUCH AND GIVE MYSELF A LITTLE LINE AND THEN GENTLY WORK THE CORNER OF THE FAN BRUSH BACK AND FORTH UNTIL YOU CREATED YOUR LITTLE TREE.

IT'S IMPORTANT HERE ONLY TO USE THE CORNER.

IT'S A LITTLE EASIER WITH THESE TINY ONES BUT AS WE DO SOME LARGER EVERGREENS IT SEEMS TO BE A NATURAL TENDENCY FOR SOME PEOPLE TO USE THE ENTIRE BRUSH AND IT JUST DOESN'T LOOK AS GOOD AND INSTEAD PICK A CORNER AND USE ONLY THE CORNER.

THERE YOU GO. YOU CAN TAKE YOUR TIME AND PUT A LOT OF DETAIL IN HERE IF YOU WANT TO.

A LITTLE TRICK YOU CAN USE THE CORNER OF THE BRUSH AND JUST RUB LIKE THIS TO GET THE INDICATION OF TREETOPS NOT REALLY DOING MUCH.

NOW BEFORE WE GO TOO FAR HERE I'M GOING TO SKETCH IN WHERE I WANT MY LAND RIGHT THERE.

THAT GIVES YOU AN IDEA OF WHERE I AM GOING.

IT GIVES ME A GOOD IDEA TOO. SOMETIMES IT'S HELPFUL TO HAVE A LITTLE VISUAL GUIDE, SOMETHING TO HELP YOU ALONG THE WAY.

AS THE TREES COME CLOSER IT SHOULD GET A LITTLE BIGGER BUT I'M STILL ONLY USING THE CORNER OF THE BRUSH, AND ONE RIGHT THERE. JUST FIGURE OUT WHERE YOU WANT THEM AND DROP THEM IN, AND IF YOU DO ONE THAT YOU DON'T LIKE -- FOR INSTANCE, IF YOU HAD A LIMB THAT STUCK OUT LIKE THAT. I DON'T THINK THAT LOOKS VERY GOOD.

PUT A LARGER TREE NEXT TO IT AND IT SHOULD COVER IT UP JUST FINE.

SEE THAT.

YOU WOULD NEVER KNOW.

NOW RIGHT HERE THERE'S A LITTLE BIT OF BLANK AREA SO WE WILL JUST FILL IT IN. WHEN YOU'RE PAINTING YOUR PAINTING, AND YOU DON'T LIKE SOMETHING IN HERE IT'S USUALLY VERY EASY TO COME RIGHT BACK IN HERE AND FIX IT.

NO PROBLEM. AND I WANT A VERY, VERY, VERY THICK DENSE FOREST BACK HERE. THERE WE GO.

NOW, WE'RE GOING TO CREATE SOME REFLECTIONS, SO I WILL TAKE A 2" BRUSH, AND LET'S START BACK HERE.

I'M GOING TO GRAB THE BOTTOM OF THESE TREES AND PULL DOWN.

PULL STRAIGHT DOWN.

AS THE TREE GETS LARGER PULL DOWN A LITTLE BIT FARTHER. NOW, THESE ARE NOT EXACT MIRROR REFLECTIONS.

THEY'RE JUST A SUGGESTION OF SOMETHING BACK HERE.

IT'S ALL WE HAVE TO DO IS BLEND ACROSS.

PULL DOWN, BLEND ACROSS, VERY LIGHT.

NOW, I GET A LOT OF COMMENTS AND EMAILS ASKING ME ABOUT

MY MAGET AND IT'S A STRONG ONE AND WANT THE TYPICAL ONE IN THE STORE.

I KEEP IT THERE ON THE EASEEL AND KEEPS THE TABLE CLEAN SO MY MESSY BRUSHES ARE NOT ALL OVER THE PLACE AND KEEPS THINGS ORGANIZED.

NOW I WILL LOAD UP A 1" BRUSH WITH A LITTLE WHITE PAINT AND LET'S PUT SOME SNOW BACK HERE UNDER THESE TREES SO I WILL JUST TOUCH AND THEN PULL. WE DON'T NEED TOO MUCH BECAUSE THESE ARE FAR AWAY.

RELOAD THE BRUSH AND CONTINUE.

NOW THIS PAINT IS STICKING PRETTY WELL THAT IS COMING OFF THE BRUSH. IF YOURS DOESN'T STICK THEN ADD TWO OR THREE DROPS OF PAINT THINNER.

NOW LET'S PAINT ANOTHER PINE TREE SO I WILL LOAD UP THE FAN BRUSH WITH THAT MIDNIGHT BLACK, A LITTLE BIT OF PRUSSIAN BLUE, AND THESE LITTLE TREES THEY WERE SO EASY.

WE NEED A BIG ONE, SO WE WILL GIVE OURSELVES THAT LINE, AND WE'LL WORK IT BACK AND FORTH.

THERE. I REALLY LIKE BIG TREES. THEY'RE EXCITING.

THEY'RE FUN TO PAINT. THEY REALLY ADD A LOT TO YOUR COMPOSITION, AND RIGHT THERE. JUST LIKE THE SMALL ONES FIGURE OUT WHERE YOU WANT THEM AND DROP THEM IN.

THERE WE ARE.

LOOK HOW DARK THEY ARE.

THAT'S VERY GOOD.

YOU NEED ALL THAT DARK COLOR FOR THE CONTRAST WHEN WE GO TO HIGHLIGHT THEM.

JUST FILL IT IN VERY DARK AND -- NOW, SEE HOW THAT INTERSECTS THAT MOUNTAIN THERE.

INSTEAD LET'S HAVE IT A LITTLE HIGHER. THERE. NOW, I HAVE A CLEAN FAN BRUSH AND I'M GOING TO GRAB THE BOTTOM OF THESE TREES AND BLEND.

WHAT THIS IS GOING TO DO IS CREATE SOME SHADOWS IN THE SNOW. WE'RE GOING TO CREATE SOME SNOW DOWN IN HERE, AND THIS WILL BE SOME NICE DETAILED LOOKING SHADOWED AREAS, SO THAT'S ALL ABOUT ALL WE NEED, JUST A LITTLE BIT OF THAT COLOR.

NOW, LET'S MIX UP A COLOR FOR SOME TREE TRUNKS SO I WILL GRAB A LITTLE BIT OF DARK SIENNA AND WHITE AND MIX THEM TOGETHER LOOSELY, A LITTLE MIDNIGHT BLACK, BUT LOOK AT ALL OF THE COLOR VARIATIONS IN THERE.

LEAVE THEM IN THERE AND CUT ACROSS AND ALL OF THE VARIATIONS ARE IN THE ROLL OF PAINT.

NOW WITH THAT WE CAN DROP IN A FEW TREE TRUNKS. JUST TOUCH AND LET THE CANVAS PULL OFF A LITTLE BIT OF PAINT. LOOK AT ALL THE NICE COLOR VARIATIONS THAT WE HAVE IN THERE.

YOU CAN EVEN TAKE THE PAINT OF THE KNIFE SCRATCH THROUGH AND GET A LITTLE STICK.

NOW I WILL LOAD UP THE FAN BRUSH WITH A LITTLE BIT OF WHITE PAINT, AND WE CAN BEGIN HIGHLIGHTING THESE EVERGREEN TREES, SO I WILL TOUCH AND JUST WORK MY WAY DOWN THE TREE LEAVING A LOT OF DARK.

YOU SEE ALL THAT DARK IN THAT TREE. IT'S SO IMPORTANT.

WITHOUT THAT DARK YOUR TREE WILL LOOK FLAT, AND I WANT A LOT OF DEPTH AND CONTRAST IN MY TREE AND LESS HIGHLIGHT AS YOU COME DOWN TOWARD THE BOTTOM.

START AT THE TOP AND WORK IT DOWN. AUTOMATICALLY YOUR BRUSH STARTS TO RUN OUT OF PAINT PICK UP THE DIRTY COLOR AND THEY BECOME DARKER AT THE BOTTOM.

IF YOUR PAINT WON'T STICK THEN THIN IS DOWN JUST A LITTLE BIT.

JUST TAP.

I AM STILL ONLY USING THE CORNER OF THE BRUSH.

THERE WE ARE.

LESS AND LESS DOWN AT THE BOTTOM.

ONE MORE.

JUST TAP AND LET'S RELOAD THE BRUSH AND GO OVER TO THIS SIDE.

THESE TREES ARE HIGHLIGHTED THE SAME WAY USING ONLY THE CORNER OF THE BRUSH.

BEFORE WE GO TOO FAR I'M GOING TO GRAB THE KNIFE AND LET'S DROP IN THE INDICATION OF A COUPLE OF TREE TRUNKS BACK HERE EVEN SCRATCH WITH THE KNIFE, BRING UP A LOT BIT OF THE COLOR, AND YOU GET DISTANT, A LITTLE TREES BACK THERE, JUST AN INDICATION.

IT'S A LITTLE DETAIL THAT IS VERY QUICK TO ADD.

IT LOOKS LIKE YOU SPENT A LOT TIME PUTTING A LOT OF DETAIL IN YOUR PAINTING AND WE KNOW YOU DIDN'T.

YOU DID IT VERY QUICKLY AND IT STILL LOOKS GREAT AND I LOVE IT WHEN WE CAN DO THAT. NOW, I HAVE LOADED UP SOME WHITE ON THE FAN BRUSH AND WE CAN ADD A LITTLE TOUCH OF HIGHLIGHT TO THIS SNOW DOWN HERE.

NOW, I KIND OF LIKE IT THE WAY IT WAS WITH THE SHADOWS.

I'M GOING TO LEAVE A LOT OF THEM IN.

HERE AND THERE I WILL TOUCH IN SOME HIGHLIGHT.

SEE WE DON'T NEED THAT MUCH HIGHLIGHT DOWN BY THE BASE OF THE TREE AND IT IS LIGHT IS COMING IN LIKE THAT AND IT WOULD CAST A BIT OF A SHADOW, SO JUST A LITTLE TOUCH OF BRIGHTER AREA HERE AND THERE.

WITH A LITTLE BIT OF DARK SIENNA AND BLACK ON THE KNIFE RIGHT HERE. WE NEED A TREE.

BE BRAVE AND DROP IT IN.

THERE IT GOES. THERE.

THAT TREE -- HE HAS A PRETTY DECENT SIZE BEND IN HIM THERE.

I LIKE THAT.

MAKES HIM LOOK ROUGH.

THERE.

NOW, THAT ONE WAS EASY, SO WE NEED ANOTHER ONE.

THIS WILL GIVE YOU A LOT OF PRACTICE MAKING SOME NICE TREES.

WHEN YOU'RE DONE WITH THIS PAINTING YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE ANY TROUBLE WITH TREES.

THERE WE GO.

MAYBE LET'S BRING IT DOWN FURTHER.

NOT THAT FAR. AND WE HAVE THE BASIC IDEA IN. IT'S NO PROBLEM TO COME BACK HERE AND CLEAN THEM UP A LITTLE. NOW, I WILL RELOAD THE KNIFE WITH SOME DARK SIENNA AND WHITE, AND WE WILL COME RIGHT BACK HERE TO THE TREES AND START TAPPING, TOUCHING VERY LIGHTLY WITH THE KNIFE, AND YOU CAN SEE THAT GIVES US A NICE LITTLE BARK TEXTURE, A BARK EFFECT.

YOU CAN TURN YOUR HAND THE OTHER WAY. SOMETIMES THAT'S EASIER BUT THE MOST IMPORTANT THING HERE IS THAT YOU HAVE A VERY LIGHT TOUCH.

YOU PUSH TOO HARD AND IT WILL KIND OF MUDDY TOGETHER, AND YOU WON'T BE HAPPY WITH IT. LEAVE A LITTLE BIT OF DARK IN BETWEEN THESE RIDGES SO YOU HAVE SOME SHADOW IN THERE, SO IT LOOKS LIKE AN OLD ROUGH TREE. ALL RIGHT.

A LITTLE BIT ON THIS ONE TOO.

WITH SOME PAINT THINNER ON THE SCRIPT LINER WE CAN ROLL IT INTO A LITTLE BROWN AND PULL IT OUT INTO A VERY SHARP POINT.

WITH THAT YOU CAN DROP IN SOME VERY NICE LIMBS. NOW, IT'S IMPORTANT TO PAY CLOSE ATTENTION TO DETAIL BECAUSE OF COURSE THIS IS WINTER, AND THERE'S NO LEAVES ON THIS TREE, SO WE CAN'T REALLY COVER THEM UP, SO MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE LIMBS THE WAY YOU WANT THEM BECAUSE THEY'RE ALL GOING TO SHOW, AND IF YOUR PAINT DOESN'T FLOW ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS ADD A LITTLE BIT MORE PAINT THINNER, AND ALSO IF YOU HAVE THE MIX WORKING WELL, AND THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN NOT WORKING SO GOOD THE PAINT THINNER DOES EVAPORATE OFF SO ADD SOME MORE THINNER.

I HAVE A LOT OF QUESTIONS. PEOPLE ALWAYS ASK ME QUESTIONS HOW I GET MY SCRIPT LINER TO WORK LIKE THIS.

IT'S ALL ABOUT THE PAINT THINNER.

THERE.

KIND OF WIGGLE YOUR HAND.

YOU GET ALL THESE NICE VARIATIONS.

YOU DON'T GET A STRAIGHT LIMB.

THAT'S NOT VERY EXCITING.

GIVE YOUR LIMBS A BUNCH OF CHARACTER.

THEY'RE VERY OLD AND ROUGH.

THERE.

I THINK WE NEED A HUGE LIMB RIGHT HERE.

THAT TRUNK -- THAT'S PRETTY THICK.

THERE WOULD BE SEVERAL LARGE LIMBS HANGING OFF TOO SO WE WILL ADD THOSE RIGHT NOW.

THERE.

LOOK AT ALL THOSE LITTLE BRANCHES, AND IT'S ALL RIGHT IF SOME ARE LIGHTER AND SOME ARE DARKER.

JUST ADDS A LITTLE EXTRA INTEREST TO YOUR PAINTING.

AND MAYBE RIGHT HERE, A BIT OF -- ONE THAT HANGS OFF LIKE THAT.

THERE WE ARE.

I LIKE THAT.

NOW, LET'S DO A LARGE ONE RIGHT HERE.

REALLY FIRM PRESSURE ON THESE BIG ONES BECAUSE YOU WANT THEM VERY THICK.

NOW, WE CAN BEGIN THINKING ABOUT THIS TREE, AND OF COURSE IT'S DONE THE SAME WAY. JUST DROP ON A NICE LITTLE GROUPING OF LIMBS.

THERE.

YOU DON'T HAVE TO SIT AND PLAN OUT EACH LIMB.

KEEP THAT BRUSH MOVING PRETTY QUICKLY, AND I THINK YOU WILL FIND THAT LIMBS JUST KIND OF APPEAR FOR YOU AS LONG AS YOU KEEP YOUR HAND BOUNCING.

WHAT'S NICE YOU NEVER PLAN THE SHAPE AND IT'S ALMOST A SURPRISE WHEN YOU SEE IT.

NOW I HAVE A CLEAN KNIFE AND WE WILL COME RIGHT UP HERE AND SCRATCH OFF THE BOTTOM OF THE TREE. THE REASON I WANTED TO DO THAT IS SO THEY DON'T HAVE A TON OF EXCESS PAINT TO WORRY ABOUT.

NOW I CAN COME RIGHT IN HERE WITH THE FAN BRUSH A LITTLE BIT OF WHITE AND CLEAN IT UP AND BUILD UP A NICE SNOW BANK THERE AND BLEND IT BACK.

THERE.

ALLOW A LITTLE BIT OF THE BROWN TO BE PULLED AROUND AND MIXED IN WITH THE SNOW LIKE THE SNOW IS REFLECTING SOME OF THE COLORS IN THE TREES. THERE.

A LITTLE SNOW DRIFT RIGHT THERE.

ADD SOME EXTRA LAYERS IN THE SNOW.

AND NOW I WILL SET THAT BRUSH DOWN AND PICK UP A 1" BRUSH AND PULL IT THROUGH A LITTLE BIT OF DARK COLOR, MOSTLY BLACK AND LET'S POP IN A COUPLE OF BUSHES RIGHT HERE JUST IN THE CORNER. THERE. ONE RIGHT THERE AND MAYBE ONE AT THE BASE OF THAT TREE.

MAYBE, YEAH, A LITTLE SOMETHING IN THERE.

ALL RIGHT.

BACK TO THE FAN BRUSH.

WE WILL JUST BLEND IN THE BOTTOM.

NOW, WATCH THIS. WE'RE GOING TO ADD SOME HIGHLIGHT SO COME IN HERE AND LIGHTLY TAP.

TOUCH AND YOU CAN HAVE A VERY DELICATE LOOKING FROSTY BUSH.

THERE.

LEAVE SOME DARK AT THE BOTTOM.

THAT'S ALL IT TAKES.

JUST A PUSH IN A FEW LITTLE BRUSHES.

IT'S A VERY LIGHT TOUCH, WANT MUCH PRESSURE. THERE WE ARE.

VERY, VERY NICE. WITH A LITTLE BIT OF WHITE ON THE KNIFE WE CAN RUB IN AN INDICATION OF A LITTLE BIT OF LIGHT REFLECTING OFF OF THIS WATER.

REALLY THIS CLEANS UP SOME OF THESE BANKS HERE AND IT MAKES THE WATER LOOK A LITTLE MORE WET.

ALL RIGHT.

I THINK WE HAVE A FINISHED PAINTING. ALL WE HAVE TO DO IS SIGN IT. I HAD A LOT OF FUN.

I HOPE YOU DID TOO.

TUNE IN NEXT TIME AND WE WILL DO ANOTHER GREAT PAINTING TOGETHER AND THANKS FOR WATCHING.
