TRANSCRIPT

HI WELCOME BACK.

TODAY WE'RE GOING TO DO ANOTHER FUN PAINTING SO LET'S GET STARTED. THE FIRST THING WE NEED TO DO IS COAT THIS CANVAS WITH THIN WHITE MEDIUM SO I WILL START OFF WITH A 2" BRUSH, AND WE WILL SPREAD

AROUND EVENLY ON THE CANVAS AND WE WILL RUN THE COLORS ACROSS HERE SO YOU KNOW EXACTLY WHAT I AM USING TO PAINT TODAY AND WE WILL WORK THIS PAINT ALL AROUND THE CANVAS VERY EVENLY.

IT'S IMPORTANT HERE THAT YOU DON'T GET TOO MUCH. IF YOU GET TOO MUCH THEN ALL THE COLORS WILL MIX TOGETHER ON HERE AND YOU WON'T BE HAPPY. ALL YOU'RE LOOKING FOR IS A VERY THIN EVEN COAT.

AND I AM USING BIG OVERLAPPING X'S.

IT'S THE BEST AND EASIEST WAY TO SPREAD IT AROUND EVENLY, AND THEN WHEN YOU THINK YOU HAVE IT ON YOU CAN BRUSH IT HORIZONTALLY TO SMOOTH IT ALL OUT.

NOW THAT THE CANVAS IS COMPLETELY COATED WE CAN GO ON WITH OUR SKY.

THE FIRST THING WE WANT TO DO IS TAP THE 2" BRUSH THROUGH A LITTLE BET OF CADMIUM YELLOW AND I THINK WE NEED A SUNSET HERE IN THE PAINTING TODAY SO WE WILL START RIGHT THERE AND GENTLY WORK OUT.

LET IT BLEND WITH THE WHITE AND GET SOFTER AS IT COMES AWAY FROM THE CENTER AND MAYBE WE WILL GO DOWN HALFWAY AND LET'S PUT SOME OF THE COLORS IN THE WAY TOO AND THE SKY IS ALWAYS REFLECTED IN THE WATER. THE NEXT THING WE WANT TO DO IS BLEND OUT THE SKY SO I HAVE GRABBED A CLEAN 2" BRUSH AND WE WILL COME RIGHT IN HERE AND GENTLY WORK THIS COLOR AROUND. NOW I HAVE SEVERAL BRUSHES GOING. YOU MAY ONLY HAVE ONE AND HAVE TO WASH IT BUT THAT'S ALL RIGHT.

I DO THIS BECAUSE IT'S A LITTLE QUICKER.

NOW I WILL LOAD UP THE 1" BRUSH WITH THE TINY BIT OF ALIZARIN CRIMSON AND WITH THAT WE WILL COME RIGHT AROUND THIS YELLOW AND DROP IN A LITTLE BIT OF THIS PINK.

IT WILL MIX WITH THE WHITE AND BECOME VERY PALE.

THE REASON I HAVE IT HERE I WILL HAVE BLUE AROUND AND I DON'T WANT GREEN AND THE BLUE AND YELLOW WOULD MAKE A BRIGHT GREEN.

NOW I WILL TAP THE 2" BRUSH THROUGH THE BLUE AND BLACK AND ALIZARIN CRIMSON AND WE WILL DROP IN THE REST OF THIS SKY WANT NOW I WILL STILL USING THE OVERLAPPING X'S BECAUSE THAT REALLY -- IT COVERS THE CANVAS BEST VERY EVEN.

ALL RIGHT. LET IT BLEND DOWN.

THE NEXT THING WE'RE GOING TO DO IS GIVE THE SKY A FINAL BLEND, SO I AM BACK TO THE 2" BRUSH, THE CLEAN ONE, AND WE CAN VERY LIGHTLY BLEND ALL THESE COLORS TOGETHER.

I'M GOING TO START HERE IN THE RED AND WORK IT INTO THE YELLOW THERE AND YOU CAN'T TELL WHERE THEY STOP.

THEY MELT TOGETHER AND WE WILL MELT THE BLUE INTO THE RED AND YOU CAN SEE QUICKLY WE HAVE A VERY SOFT TRANSITION. THAT'S NICE.

NOW I'M GETTING OUT HERE INTO THE DARKER COLORS BUT NOW THAT I'M OUT IN THE DARK I DON'T WANT TO DRAG THE DIRTY DRUSH INTO THE CENTER.

THAT WILL RUIN THE LIGHT.

WITH A LITTLE BIT OF BLACK ON THE KNIFE LET'S DROP IN A MOUNTAIN UP HERE.

NOW, I'M JUST USING THE POINT OF THE KNIFE TO KIND OF DROP IN THE BASIC IDEA OF THE MOUNTAIN.

THERE'S NO DETAIL HERE YET.

MAYBE IT RUNS DOWN LIKE THAT, AND LET'S ADD ANOTHER BUMP RIGHT THERE.

ANYWHERE YOU WANT YOUR MOUNTAIN TO HAVE A PEAK JUST DROP IT IN.

YOU CAN CREATE ANY SHAPE AND SIZE OF YOUR MOUNTAIN, AND LET'S DO A LITTLE SOMETHING THAT COMES OFF LIKE THAT.

IT WILL BE DIFFERENT AND MAYBE THERE'S A SMALL PEAK THERE.

WE WILL WORRY ABOUT THAT ONE LATER.

WITH THE 1" BRUSH WE CAN PULL AND BLEND THIS MOUNTAIN OUT.

I'M GRABBING IT AT THE TOP AND PULLING IT GENTLY TOWARDS THE BOTTOM.

THIS MAKES IT LOOK MISTY HERE AT THE BOTTOM.

ALMOST FLOATING IN THE MIST AND REMOVES A LITTLE BIT OF PAINT AND SOFTENS OF.

NOW M GOING TO SHOW YOU HOW TO CREATE SOME HIGHLIGHTS ON THIS MOUNTAIN SO I HAVE JUST A LITTLE BIT OF WHITE ON THE KNIFE AND WE'RE GOING TO GENTLY, GENTLY LET IT FLOAT DOWN THE MOUNTAIN WITH NO PRESSURE AT ALL AND YOU GET ALL THIS BREAKING IN THERE, ALL THE HOLES AND THE TEXTURE IN THE PAINT AND THAT'S VERY NICE.

THE ONLY WAY TO GET THAT IS TO HAVE AN EXTREMELY LIGHT TOUCH, JUST GUIDE THE KNIFE ON THE WAY DOWN.

NOW MAYBE WE WILL HAVE A PULL OF HIGHLIGHT RIGHT THERE, AND MAYBE ONE THERE. YOU CAN MAKE YOUR MOUNTAIN UP AS YOU GO ALONG OR YOU CAN MAYBE FIND A PHOTOGRAPH OF A MOUNTAIN THAT YOU LIKE AND TRY TO PAINT SOMETHING SIMILAR, WHATEVER YOU WANT.

SOMETIMES I LIKE TO MAKE THEM UP.

IT CAN BE EXCITING. THERE IS JUST A TOUCH OF HIGHLIGHT THERE AND LET'S DO ONE HERE OVER ON THE LEFT AND IT WRAPS IN FRONT.

YOU CAN SEE MAYBE WE'RE GOING TO HAVE A LITTLE VALLEY BACK IN THERE OR SOMETHING.

I DON'T KNOW.

WE WILL JUST SEE IT AS IT GOES ALONG.

THESE PEAKS OVER HERE ON THE RIGHT THEY NEED A LITTLE SNOW TOO. NOW I AM ALMOST SURE THEY'RE GOING TO BE MOSTLY COVERED.

IF A LITTLE BIT OF THEM SHOW THROUGH AT THE END IT WILL BE WORTH IT.

NOW LET'S MIX UP A COLOR FOR THE SHADOW SNOW. THERE'S BLACK AND BLUE AND A TOWM OF WHITE.

MIX THEM TOGETHER AND CUT OUT FLAT AND A LITTLE BIT OF PAINT ON THE TIP.

NOW WITH THAT PAINT ON THE TIP WE CAN DROP IN A LITTLE BIT OF SHADOW.

NOW, YOU CAN SEE I AM KIND OF PULLING STRAIGHT DOWN HERE.

I AM DOING THAT BECAUSE I WANT A VALLEY DOWN THERE, KIND OF STEEP AND HERE WE WILL PULL AT A DIFFERENT ANGLE.

SEE THAT. LET ALL THESE NICE THINGS HAPPEN. YOU CAN SEE IT MIXED A LITTLE BIT WITH THE ORIGINAL WHITE AND THAT IS OKAY.

THERE.

LOOK AT ALL THE NICE SHADOWS.

DROP THEM IN IN THE DARK AREAS AND THERE'S ONE.

NOW WE'RE GOING TO CREATE SOME MIST AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS MOUNTAIN, SO WE WILL TAKE A CLEAN 2" BRUSH VERY LIGHTLY WE WILL JUST BRUSH OUT THE BOTTOM OF THE MOUNTAIN ONLY JUST TO BLUR IT BLEND IT OUT A LITTLE, CREATE THE SUGGESTION OF MIST.

I DON'T WANT TO DESTROY IT BECAUSE IT'S VERY NICE.

I DON'T WANT TO LOSE IT, JUST SOFTEN IT LITTLE AND LEAVE IT ALONE.

THAT'S GOOD ENOUGH. LET'S BEGIN MAKING SOME TREES DOWN HERE AT THE BOTTOM OF THE MOUNTAIN.

I AM JUST TAPPING DOWN WITH A 1" BRUSH.

NOW THIS DOESN'T LOOK LIKE TREES YET BUT JUST WAIT.

WE'RE GOING TO LIFT UP AND IN JUST A COUPLE SECONDS YOU WILL SEE THOUSANDS OF TREES.

NOW WATCH THIS.

WE'RE GOING TO LIFT STRAIGHT UP AND YOU GET THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS OF TREETOPS VERY, VERY QUICKLY. YOU CAN ADD SO MUCH DETAIL TO YOUR BACKGROUND AND IT'S A LOT OF FUN TO DO.

THEY ALMOST APPEAR TOTALLY BY THEMSELVES.

YOU JUST LIFT UP AND WATCH THEM ALL JUST JUMP RIGHT OUT.

LET'S CREATE ANOTHER LAYER OF TREES AND WE'LL TAP THEM IN THE SAME WAY. LOOK HOW MUCH DARKER THESE ARE AND I AM DOING THAT SO THIS LAYER LOOKS CLOSER TO THE DARKER THINGS ARE IN LANDSCAPE THE CLOSER THEY LOOK TO YOU, SO USE THAT TO YOUR ADVANTAGE.

THINK ABOUT THAT AS YOU ARE GOING ALONG.

NOW WE'RE GOING TO DO THAT SAME LITTLE TRICK AND LIFT THOSE TREES RIGHT OUT.

LOOK HOW IT PUSHES THE OTHER ONES BACK. GENTLY GIVE THEM A LITTLE LIFT AND THEY POP RIGHT OUT.

THE NEXT THING WE WANT TO DO IS CREATE SOME REFLECTIONS UNDER THESE TREES, SO I HAVE A 2" BRUSH, AND I'M GOING TO GENTLY PULL DOWN AND YOU SEE I GET A VERY NICE REFLECTION QUICKLY AND EASILY. JUST GIVE IT A LITTLE PULL. ALL RIGHT.

WHEN YOU HAVE IT DOWN FAR ENOUGH TURN THE BRUSH GENTLY WORK IT ACROSS.

NOW LET'S START CREATING SOME TREES HERE.

I GAVE MYSELF A LITTLE LINE AND THEN WE WILL PUSHUP. LOOK AT THIS.

YOU CREATE A NICE LITTLE TREE VERY, VERY QUICKLY, AND YOU CAN DROP THESE IN WHEREVER YOU WANT.

LET THEM GROW TOGETHER.

THEY SHOULD BE TOUCHING.

DON'T PLACE THEM EVENLY APART.

ALL RIGHT. SOMETIMES YOU WANT TO PUSH UP. SOMETIMES YOU TO PUSH DOWN ON THE BRUSH.

KIND OF DEPENDS WHAT YOU WANT.

THERE LET'S JUST SMASH IN SOME LAND.

WE WILL DO MORE WITH THAT LATER.

THERE'S A BIG ONE RIGHT HERE.

LOOK AT IT GO.

USE ONLY THE CORNER. ALL RIGHT.

A COUPLE OF LITTLEY GUYS LIKE THAT.

I AM PULLING DOWN WITH THE BRUSH AND FROM THE LIMBS RIGHT BACK IN FRONT.

AND MAYBE HERE I'M GOING TO JUST PULL DOWN ALMOST ALL THAT WILL BE COVERED.

NOW I WILL LOAD UP THAT BRUSH WITH A LITTLE BIT MORE BLACK, BLACK AND GREEN, AND LET'S MAKE A LARGER ONE.

I THINK THIS LARGER ONE IS GOING TO START RIGHT THERE.

NOW, I GRAB THE KNIFE HERE AND WE'LL TAKE OFF THAT PAINT.

THAT WOULD JUST GET IN THE WHITE, THAT THICK WHITE PAINT.

DON'T BE AFRAID TO REMOVE PAINT IF YOU HAVE TO. GENTLY PUSH OUT OUR TREE. THERE IT GOES.

RELOAD AND KEEP GOING.

YOU MAY HAVE TO RELOAD TWO OR THREE TIMES IN BETWEEN YOUR TREE AND THAT'S OKAY.

A LITTLE MORE COLOR.

LET'S DO SOMETHING A LITTLE LARGER RIGHT THERE.

WE'RE STARTING TO GET INTO SOME PRETTY BIG TREES NOW BUT I'M DOING IT THE SAME WAY USING ONLY THE CORNER OF THE BRUSH AND I AM SHAPING ALL THESE LIMBS.

DON'T MAKE YOUR TREE SYMMETRICAL.

TRY TO DO THEM PRETTY QUICK.

USUALLY IF YOU DO THEM FAST YOU DON'T HAVE TROUBLE GETTING THEM TOO SYMMETRICAL.

ALL RIGHT.

THAT ONE STOPS RIGHT THERE.

ONE MORE. JUSGURE OUT WHERE YOU WANT THEM.

GIVE YOURSELF THAT LINE AND PUSH THEM OUT.

I THINK WE NEED A LITTLE BIT OF LAND OVER THESE TREES, SO FOR THAT I WILL JUST TAP THE 1" BRUSH INTO SOME OF THE SAME GREEN AND I'M JUST GOING TO TAP IN SOME LAND AREAS.

I HAVE THAT ONE MAPPED IN. HERE IS THE NEXT ONE.

ALL RIGHT.

MAYBE WE NEED -- LET'S HAVE ONE MORE.

THIS ONE SORT OF COMES AROUND LIKE THAT.

THAT'S VERY INTERESTING.

NOW I HAVE RELOAD THE FAN BRUSH WITH VERY DARK COLOR.

LET'S DO ANOTHER TREE.

THIS TREE IS GOING TO BE REALLY LARGE, KIND OF FRAME IN THE PAINTING, SO TAP WITH THAT BRUSH.

TAP AND BEND THE BRUSH UP.

YOU'RE SHAPING YOUR LIMBS AS YOU'RE GOING DOWN THE TREE. ALL RIGHT.

BE SURE IT'S VERY ROUGH.

DON'T GET ANYTHING TOO SYMMETRICAL.

HERE IT GOES RIGHT DOWN HERE.

LET'S GO AHEAD AND SCRAPE OFF THAT MOUNTAIN.

IT WAS FUN TO MAKE BUT WE KNEW WE MIGHT LOSE SOME OF IT.

THERE IT

GOES RIGHT OVER THE MOUNTAIN AND IF WE DIDN'T DO THIS IT WOULDN'T BE DARK AND I AM COUNTING ON THE DARKNESS IN HERE TO PROVIDE ME WITH CONTRAST WHEN I GO TO HIGHLIGHT IT.

ALL RIGHT. MAYBE WE WILL STOP RIGHT THERE. NOW, LET'S DO A TREE RIGHT HERE.

FIGURE OUT WHERE YOU WANT IT AND LIGHTLY TOUCH, DROP THEM IN.

STILL USING ONLY THE CORNER SHAPING ALL THE NICE LITTLE LIMBS.

BACK TO THE MOUNTAIN AND SCRAPE IT OFF.

IT WOULD JUST GET IN THE WAY.

RELOAD THE BRUSH KEEP ON GOING.

THERE LOOK AT ALL THE NICE THINGS THAT HAPPEN WHEN YOU PUSHUP ON THE BRUSH. YOU GET A DIFFERENT EFFECT. NORMALLY I PUSH DOWN BUT TODAY I THOUGHT WE WOULD DO SOMETHING DIFFERENT.

RELOAD THE BRUSH QUITE A BIT, TWO, THREE TIMES WHEN DOING THE BIG TREES LIKE THIS HERE.

NOW I WILL PULL A 1" BRUSH THROUGH ALIZARIN CRIMSON, MIDNIGHT BLACK, SAP GREEN AND DARK SIENNA.

LET'S NOW TAP IN JUST A LITTLE BIT OF LAND.

THE LAND COMES DOWN LIKE THAT.

NOW THIS IS JUST A DARK PART OF THE LAND.

WE'RE GOING TO COME BACK AND ADD SOME NICE DETAILED HIGHLIGHT AREAS IN HERE.

IN FACT I THINK LET'S TURN THIS INTO BUSHES SO WE WILL PUSH UP. THAT CREATES LITTLE BUSH TOPS. ONCE AGAIN WE WILL HIGHLIGHT THESE ONES TOO.

AND WE WILL JUST FILL THIS IN WITH GOOD DARK COLOR.

NOW LET'S CREATE SOME REFLECTIONS HERE IN THE WATER. GRAB THE BOTTOM OF THE LAND AND PULL IT DOWN.

PULL DOWN JUST ENOUGH TO BLEND IT AND GIVE YOURSELF THE SUGGESTION OF A NICE LITTLE REFLECTION THERE. NOW I HAVE JUST A LITTLE BIT OF MIDNIGHT BLACK ON THE KNIFE AND I WANT TO DROP IN SOME VERY DARK ROCKS IN THE BACKGROUND HERE, AND MAYBE THIS IS GOING TO BE A ROCKY SHORE OR SOME ROCKS SLOPING DOWN INTO THE WATER. RIGHT NOW I AM ONLY LOOKING FOR THE DARK PART.

WE WILL COME BACK AND ADD SOME NICE HIGHLIGHTS ON TOP IN JUST A SECOND. THERE.

LET ALL THOSE THINGS HAPPEN. THERE IS SOME DARK SIENNA.

NOW LET'S MIX UP A COLOR FOR SOME HIGHLIGHT SO I HAVE DARK SIENNA AND WHITE.

I WILL MIX THOSE TOGETHER BUT LOOK AT THIS.

I'M GOING TO MIX THEM LOOSELY. LEAVE BOTH COLORS THERE SO YOU HAVE A TON OF THINGS HAPPENING THERE.

CUT OFF A LITTLE PAINT AND THE VARIATION WILL BE IN THAT ROLL.

NOW WITH THAT A LITTLE BIT OF PAINT OUT ON THE TIP OF THE KNIFE WE CAN DROP IN SOME VERY NICE HIGHLIGHTS.

BE GENTLE WHEN YOU DO THIS.

IF YOU DON'T YOU WON'T BE HAPPY.

YOU WON'T GET ANY OF THIS TEXTURE SO ALMOST NO PRESSURE AT ALL, BASICALLY JUST THE WEIGHT OF THE KNIFE, LET IT KIND OF GLIDE ACROSS.

THERE'S SOME RIGHT THERE.

ALL RIGHT. ONE MORE.

NOW, MAYBE WE NEED JUST A COUPLE OF ROCKS OVER HERE. WE CAN DO THAT.

A LITTLE BIT OF DARK COLOR AND THERE'S SOME LIGHT, JUST BREAK IT RIGHT ACROSS.

NOW LET'S ADD IN JUST A HINT OF A TREE TRUNK IN SOME OF THE TREES.

DON'T HAVE TO SEE THE WHOLE THING, JUST BITS AND PIECES.

MAYBE JUST A HINT OVER HERE.

CLEAN THE KNIFE OFF. THEN YOU CAN KIND OF GIVE SOME OF THE TREES A POINTY TOP.

JUST RUN THE KNIFE RIGHT UP.

NOW WE'RE GOING TO ADD A LITTLE REFLECTION OF LIGHT ON THE WATER. SO I PICKED UP JUST A TOUCH OF TITANIUM WHITE ON THE KNIFE AND HERE AND THERE WE'RE GOING TO SCRAPE AND RUB VERY HARD AND WE'LL GET JUST A SLIVER OF LIGHT OUT THERE ON THE WATER. IT MAKES THE WATER LOOK MORE WET. YOU CAN ALMOST REACH OUT AND TOUCH IT NOW.

ALL RIGHT. MAYBE HAVE ONE THAT COMES RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE REFLECTION.

PUSH IT BACK AND THEN THERE'S ONE. TRY TO KEEP THESE FLAT.

THEY WILL LOOK BETTER IF THEY'RE TOTALLY FLAT.

NOW THIS ONE BACK HERE NEEDS SOME TOO.

JUST A HINT.

A LITTLE SOMETHING BACK THERE.

I'M TAPPING IN SOME VERY SOFT GRASSY PATCHES.

LET THEM RUN RIGHT OVER THE ROCKS.

LOOK HOW IT PUSHES THEM BACK INTO THE PAINTING.

THEY FIT NOW MUCH BETTER.

ALL RIGHT.

WORK IN LAYERS AS YOU COME FORWARD.

DO YOU SEE THAT?

LEAVE A LITTLE DARK IN THERE.

A LITTLE DARK GOES A LONG WAY.

IT LOOKS SO MUCH BETTER SO LEAVE SOME IN. DON'T COVER IT ALL UP WITH HIGHLIGHTS.

ALL RIGHT.

LET'S PUSH THE GRASS HERE AND BACK INTO THE PAINTING.

OKAY.

GOES RIGHT OVER.

LET ME GRAB A 1" BRUSH. I THINK WE NEED A LITTLE BUSH OUT HERE, SOMETHING VERY SMALL, YEAH, LIKE THAT.

BACK TO THE 2" BRUSH.

WE'RE GOING TO USE ONLY THE CORNER CAREFULLY AND DROP A LITTLE HIGHLIGHT ON THEM.

GOOD ENOUGH.

CAN YOU DO BUSHES WITH THE 2" BRUSH IF YOU WANT TO.

OVER HERE WE WILL MAYBE KEEP THIS A LITTLE DARKER.

I THINK IT'S PROBABLY COVERED BY SOME OF THESE TREES.

TREES ARE BLOCKING OUT SOME LIGHT. WON'T BE QUITE AS BRIGHT OVER HERE.

BUT WE STILL WANT LAYERS IN THE GRASS.

NOW I'M GOING TO SHOW YOU A LITTLE TRICK.

YOU SEE THESE TWO TREES HERE? WATCH WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I BRING THEM DOWN.

LOOK HOW IT ALMOST CREATES ANOTHER PLAIN IN THE PAINTING.

IT HELPS EVERYTHING COME FORWARD AND CREATES A LOT OF DEPTH.

NOW I WILL LOAD UP THE FAN BRUSH WITH CADMIUM YELLOW AND YELLOW OCHRE AND A TOUCH OF GREEN AND LET'S BEGIN ADDING HIGHLIGHT TO THESE TREES.

NOW TODAY I HAVE CHOSEN TO KEEP THE HIGHLIGHT PRETTY QUIET, NOT SO BRIGHT, SO I AM JUST DROPPING IN A HINT.

IF YOU WOULD LIKE MORE ON YOUR TREE THAN JUST ADD A LITTLE MORE OF THE CADMIUM YELLOW.

OKAY.

MAYBE THIS ONE JUST A LITTLE.

I DON'T THINK I WILL EVEN TOUCH THOSE BACK THERE. THEY'RE TOO FAR AWAY.

YOU DON'T WANT TO ADD TOO MUCH DETAIL IN THE BACKGROUND.

OKAY.

RELOAD.

LET'S DO THESE TREES OVER HERE.

JUST TAP THEM ON THE CORNER OF THE BRUSH.

PUSH THAT TREE TRUNK BACK INTO THE TREE AND THIS ALSO MAKES YOUR TREE LOOK A LITTLE MORE THREE DIMENSIONAL.

LET'S DO THIS BIG GUY UP HERE.

LEAVE ALL THIS DARK IN HERE.

THAT'S SO IMPORTANT. WITHOUT THE DARK YOU REALLY -- IT'S GOING TO LOOK FLAT.

THERE WILL BE NO DEPTH ON IT AT ALL AND IT JUST WON'T BE AS NICE, SO KIND OF THINK ABOUT THE DARK, PRESERVE THE DARK, DON'T KILL IT ALL.

AND LET THE BRUSH RUN OUT OF PAINT AND GET DARKER INTO THE SHADOWS HERE AT THE BOTTOM.

NOW HERE'S A COUPLE OF LITTLE BUSHES.

LET'S DROP SOME HIGHLIGHT ON THEM, JUST TOUCH, PUSH VERY GENTLE WITH THE 1" BRUSH. BE SURE TO LEAVE DARK AT THE BOTTOM OF YOUR BUSH JUST LIKE WITH THE GRASS AND THE TREES. IT WILL MAKE IT SO MUCH NICER. WHATEVER YOU DO DON'T HIGHLIGHT THEM SOLID.

IT WON'T LOOK AS GOOD.

ONE MORE.

I THINK WE WILL JUST USE THE EXISTING DARK PAINT AND PUT IT RIGHT THERE. WITH JUST A CLEAN KNIFE WE WILL SCRATCH THROUGH THE PAINT AND WE WILL GET LITTLE STICKS IN THESE BUSHES.

THIS IS A VERY QUICK AND EASY WAY TO CREATE SOME DETAIL IN YONTING.

DO IT MOSTLY IN THE DARK AREAS AND IF YOU WANT YOU CAN PULL OUT A COUPLE LITTLE THINGS THAT HANG OFF FROM YOUR EVERGREENS.

NOW WE'RE GOING TO WORK ON A LITTLE DETAIL IN THE FOREGROUND SO I HAVE A LITTLE BROWN ON THE SCRIPT LINER AND NOW WE SCRATCHED IN SOME STICKS AND NOW WE'RE GOING TO PAINT SOME IN TOO SO WE HAVE A VARIETY OF THINGS GOING ON IN HERE.

NOT ALL THE SAME. THERE'S ONE.

NOW I THINK -- I THINK WE NEED ONE THAT COMES OUT LIKE THAT CAREFULLY ADDED IN. ALL RIGHT.

PULL UP.

JUST GET A FEW.

YOU DON'T HAVE TO GO OVER BOARD.

JUST SPEND A MINUTE OR TWO ADDING THESE DETAILS AND THEN LEAVE IT ALONE ALL RIGHT. I THINK WE HAVE A FINISHED PAINTING.

ALL WE HAVE TO DO IS SIGN IT. >> I HAD A LOT OF FUN.

I HOPE YOU DID TOO.

TUNE IN NEXT TIME AND WE WILL DO ANOTHER GREAT PAINTING TOGETHER AND THANKS FOR WATCHING.
