Arkansans Trust AETN
AETN was created in 1961 as Arkansas's only statewide television and public service media network, with broadcasts reaching more than 95 percent of the state. AETN produces original programs featuring the people and places of Arkansas and is a PBS member station.
PBS and member stations are No. 1 in public trust and an "excellent" use of tax dollars. PBS was also called the most fair network for news and public affairs.
PBS KIDS was named the most educational TV/media brand, the safest destination for children to watch television or visit online, and the top provider of content that helps children build reading and math skills. (2012 Harris Poll)
In partnership with the National Humanities Center, ArkansasIDEAS and AETN have created a new online seminar course, "Teaching the Great Gatsby." Enjoy a more in-depth discussion of the novel and life of F. Scott Fitzgerald, the situations he dealt with in life, and the content of his novel. Topics covered include: F. Scott Fitzgerald's lifestyle, the narrative of "The Great Gatsby," the friends Fitzgerald kept and the impact of the novel itself. The course is designed to provide strategies for close-reading, in coordination with Common Core Standards. Learn more at: ideas.aetn.org/whatsnew.
