Big imaginations create big stories, and this year's AETN PBS Kids GO! Writers Contest participants proved that more than ever! After receiving tons of great entries from across the state, we're happy to announce that our judges have made the tough decisions and have chosen 12 stories named first, second or third place in the K-3 contest. Our first place winners will be submitted to PBS for entry in the national contest shortly - national winners will be announced in July.
Winning students hail from Conway, Rogers, Little Rock, Monticello, Timbo, Springdale, Rogers and Booneville and wrote about any topic they chose. Writers were asked to remain within a certain word count, which varied by grade, and to have at least five illustrations.
Congratulations to all of our talented 2013 wordsmiths! We look forward to seeing all that you accomplish in what we hope will be a long, exciting, literary career. Also, we extend our thanks to the many parents, teachers and mentors who have taken the time to foster a love of learning and for providing love, support and encouragement to our participants.
