Join AETN and the Arkansas Historic Places Student Film Prize for a special evening of curated digital shorts in Little Rock's Ron Robinson Theater on Wednesday, May 11, starting at 5:30 p.m.

The 2016 Young Filmmakers Showcase will highlight the creativity of the state’s kindergarten through 12th grade students and features the following films:
  • “Toby,” produced by Har-Ber High School, Springdale.
  • “Feminism PSA,” produced by Malvern High School.
  • “Lost,” produced by Bentonville High School.
  • “Tribe,” produced by Springdale High School.
  • “Numb,” produced by Fayetteville High School.
  • “The Writings of Ranikka,” produced by Metropolitan Career-Technical Center, Little Rock.
  • “Through the Lens,” produced by Bryant high School.
  • “The After Party,” produced by Dardanelle High School.
  • “Somethin' 'Bout Saturday,” produced by Lakeside High School, Hot Springs.
Now in its 10th year, “Student Selects” is an annual event that grants these future filmmakers the opportunity to submit their film and video handiwork for possible broadcast on AETN, streaming on aetn.org, and screening at the Young Filmmakers Showcase and the Hot Springs Documentary Film Festival in October. Throughout the year, “Student Selects” maintains an open call policy, and AETN will accept and review entries as they are received.

The evening will also feature the presentation of the 2016 Thea Foundation Scholarships for screenwriting, directing, cinematography and editing, as well as the Arkansas Historic Preservation Program and Arkansas Humanities Council Arkansas Historic Places Student Film Prize.
