Isabella’s original story, “Be Yourself,” earned first place among second grade entries in Arkansas’s local contest in May and was then forwarded to the national competition where she was chosen as a finalist.
“Be Yourself” competed against other state-level winning stories from across the country. Entries were judged on originality, creative expression, storytelling and integration of text and illustration.
As a national finalist, Isabella’s story is now featured on the PBS KIDS Writers Contest website at pbskids.org/writerscontest. Congratulations, Isabella! We’re very proud of you and look forward to reading many more of your stories!
AETN received more than 150 entries from students across Arkansas for this year’s AETN PBS KIDS Writers contest and all 12 winning stories, including “Be Yourself,” can be read at aetn.org/kids/writerscontest.
