“Barnes and … A Conversation With Frank Abagnale”

You might not immediately recognize Frank Abagnale’s name but, chances are, you’re familiar with his story.

A former con artist turned fraud expert consultant, Abagnale’s criminal activities were depicted in his book “Catch Me If You Can,” as well as the Steven Spielberg-directed film of the same title.

From the age of 16 to 21, Abagnale successfully posed as an airline pilot, an attorney and a doctor, and cashed millions of dollars in fraudulent checks before being caught.

Afterwards, for more than 40 years, Frank Abagnale advised the FBI on how to outsmart con artists. He’s now one of the world’s most respected authorities on forgery, embezzlement and secure documents and serves as the ambassador for the AARP Fraud Watch Network.

When Abagnale joined AARP Arkansas for an event on protecting oneself from identity theft and scams, he sat down with host Steve Barnes his life, career and dealing with consumer fraud.
