Get your brains and buzzers ready! Brilliant high school students from across the state will test their mental mettle in the annual Arkansas Governor’s Academic Competition at AETN Saturday, April 27, 2019.

This state finals matchup involving all seven conferences and a total of 14 teams will broadcast on AETN in two parts: 9 a.m. to noon and 1:30 to 4 p.m.

The first round of matches beginning at 9 a.m. will include in order of appearance:

  1. 4A - Arkadelphia and Monticello.
  2. 5A - DeQueen and Morrilton.
  3. 3A - Mountain View and Centerpoint (Amity).
  4. 6A - Greenwood and Russellville.

The second round of matches beginning at 1:30 p.m. will include in order of appearance:

  1. 1A - Norfork and Izard County Consolidated (Brockwell).
  2. 2A - Haas Hall Academy Bentonville and Haas Hall Academy Fayetteville.
  3. 7A - Central High (Little Rock) and Conway.

On top of the opportunity to take in this cerebral contest on the AETN airwaves, you also have the opportunity to watch “Quiz Bowl 2019” live in AETN Studios in Conway. The public is invited to attend at AETN headquarters, 350 South Donaghey Avenue, and will be seated on a first come, first served basis. Spectators will be admitted via the main entrance on Beatrice Powell and should arrive no later than 8:30 a.m. for the first round and 1 p.m. for the second round.
