In a new, first ever holiday collaboration with AETN, television host, author and lifestyle expert P. Allen Smith and floral creative designer Holly Heider Chapple offer inspiration for the holiday season in “Garden Home Christmas,” premiering Saturday, Dec. 14, at 11 a.m.
“I've got a special treat for AETN viewers this holiday season,” Smith said. “My friend Holly Heider Chapple is a great florist, and she comes to the farm and decorates it both inside and out.
“I'll also be sharing decorating tips as well as recipes from friends and family.”
“Garden Home Christmas” will also air Tuesday, Dec. 17, at 7 p.m. and can be found online at aetn.org/GardenHomeChristmas and youtube.com/PAllenSmith. Smith's additional “Garden Home” programs can be seen on AETN and CREATE TV each Saturday morning.
Taped at Smith's Moss Mountain Farm in Roland, Arkansas, this one-hour special features a vision for holiday cooking, decorating and entertaining with family and friends. Chapple brings the outdoors in as she decorates the farm, using nature to create beautiful spaces for the holidays. Viewers will take in her natural style to learn about wreath-making, watch as she drapes a chandelier and then goes outside to the rose garden entrance to finish.
Smith shares his entertaining, decorating and cooking skills to help viewers prep for the holidays while sharing three family recipes. In addition, audiences will learn unique ways to use rosemary in décor and how to take care of natural greenery at home.
Viewers will have the opportunity to receive Smith's “Seasonal Recipes from the Garden: A Garden Home Cookbook” and the Veggies and Herbs card collection featuring planning and care information for 27 of Smith's favorite herbs and vegetables, as well as corresponding recipes for a true garden-to-table experience. The collection also includes an hour-long DVD with additional how-to projects, organic care, pest control tips and garden tours.
