AETN, Mercy bring the Cat in the Hat to Rogers Public Library April 4
Posted 30 Mar 2015
The Arkansas Educational Television Network (AETN) has partnered with Mercy Northwest Arkansas and Mercy Kids to bring the star of 'The Cat in the Hat Knows a Lot About That!' to Rogers Saturday, April 4. Families are invited to meet Cat at the Rogers Public Library, 711 South Dixieland Road, from 9 a.m. to noon.
The event is free, and visitors can enjoy photographs with the Cat, episodes of 'The Cat in the Hat Knows a Lot About That!,' story time with Dr. Seuss books and more.
'The Cat in the Hat Knows a Lot About That!' was created in response to recent findings that children graduating from kindergarten are less prepared to learn about science than about other subjects. The series supports young children's science learning by introducing scientific inquiry skills, teaching core science concepts and vocabulary, and preparing preschoolers for kindergarten and first grade science curriculum — all in whimsical style.
PBS KIDS, the number one educational media brand for kids, offers all children the opportunity to explore new ideas and new worlds through television, online, mobile and community-based programs. Kidscreen- and Webby-award winning pbskids.org provides engaging interactive content, including the PBS KIDS video player, now offering free streaming video accessible on computer- and mobile-device-based browsers.
