Posted 12 Mar 2009
The Arkansas Educational Television Network brings its award-winning AETN Family Day to the Jones Center for Families in Springdale Tuesday, March 24, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
This free event is open to the public and part of Spring Break Week at the Jones Center, 922 East Emma Avenue in Springdale.
Traveling to the Jones Center with AETN will be PBS Kids favorites Clifford the Big Red Dog, Curious George, Maya & Miguel and WordGirl.
Throughout the day, kids will have the opportunity to take pictures with the characters, color, read, play, swim, ice skate and find other ways to celebrate spring break.
The Jones Center for Families was founded in 1995 by Bernice Jones as a safe harbor for the entire Northwest Arkansas community where families and groups could come together to do those things which make the community a better place to live. The center provides a multigenerational, social, educational and recreational facility where "all are welcome." This nonprofit organization is led by a community board. Its mission is "to serve families, strengthen community and glorify God."
The Arkansas Educational Television Network (www.aetn.org) provides lifelong learning opportunities, improves and enhances Arkansans lives and celebrates the unique culture of Arkansas through its programming and services. AETNs digital and analog transmitters and numerous cable system connections give it statewide reach.
