AETN Foundation hosts violinist David Garrett in concert
Posted 09 Sep 2009
The event is a fundraiser for the AETN Foundation, and all proceeds will support programming on AETN, Arkansas's PBS affiliate and only statewide network.
Garrett, a German violinist who plays everything from Vivaldi to Queen to Michael Jackson, weaves classical standards with rock and pop favorites for a thrilling performance reminiscent of the Trans-Siberian Orchestra.
Accompanied by a full rock band, he cleverly reinterprets Queens ballad, Who Wants to Live Forever; gives AC/DCs Thunderstruck a memorable new twist; and thrills with the rousing Hes a Pirate from Pirates of the Caribbean. Garrett also performs classical pieces, including selections from Vivaldis The Four Seasons and Bizets Carmen.
The virtuoso violinist holds the record as worlds fastest violinist, playing an amazing 13 notes per second.
Tickets to Garrett's Fayetteville performance are $50 for floor seats and $25 for balcony seats. Tickets are available on a first come, first serve basis. For more information or to reserve tickets, visit the box office at www.aetnfoundation.org/boxoffice, or call 800-662-2386.
