'Arkansans Ask' to address opioid addiction Aug. 17 on AETN

'Arkansans Ask: Opioid Addiction' will air on the Arkansas Educational Television Network Thursday, Aug. 17, at 7 p.m.
Addiction and deaths related to opioids – drugs prescribed to treat moderate and severe pain – continue to rise in Arkansas. Expert guests will discuss the facts behind the state's situation, treatment options and available resources.

Panelists include: Arkansas State Drug Director Kirk Lane; John Kirtley, Pharm.D., executive director of the Arkansas State Board of Pharmacy; Dr. Michael Mancino, M.D., program director of the Center for Addiction Services and Treatment, UAMS Psychiatric Research Institute; and William Scott Doerhoff, executive director of the William Christian Doerhoff Memorial Foundation. Veteran journalist Steve Barnes will host.
