'Pinkalicious & Peterrific' to premiere Feb. 19 on AETN
Posted 05 Feb 2018
"Pinkalicious & Peterrific," a new PBS KIDS animated series that encourages children to explore the arts and sparks creativity, will premiere Monday, Feb. 19, at 8 a.m. on the Arkansas Educational Television Network.
Based on the best-selling HarperCollins "Pinkalicious" book series by Victoria Kann, this new multiplatform program will also be available on the AETN PBS KIDS 24/7 channel and PBS KIDS digital platforms. Designed for children ages 3-5, "Pinkalicious & Peterrific" encourages kids to engage in the creative arts and self-expression, covering areas such as music, dance and visual arts.
"Pinkalicious & Peterrific" follows the adventures of Pinkalicious and her brother Peter. Pinkalicious imagines creative possibilities everywhere she looks. She is an artist at heart – and, like most creative people, she sees the world differently from others. She knows what she likes, and she's not afraid to express herself – though she sometimes needs help from Peter and her neighborhood friends.
The "Pinkalicious & Peterrific" television series is part of a multiplatform media experience that will also include digital content for kids, parents and teachers. "Pinkalicious & Peterrific" will offer a variety of games at pbskids.org and on the PBS KIDS Games App, as well as clips and full episodes across PBS KIDS' streaming video platforms, including the PBS KIDS Video App. A "Pinkalicious & Peterrific" app will also launch in 2018. Parent resources will be available on the PBS KIDS for Parents site, and pbslearningmedia.org will offer classroom-ready materials for teachers, including video excerpts, games, tips and printable activities.
To help kick off the premiere, AETN is giving away a Pinkalicious prize pack, featuring a Pinkalicious Cupcake Cookbook and pink-a-rama storybooks. Additionally, AETN and Reynolds Performance Hall on the University of Central Arkansas campus have partnered to give away tickets to the Pinkalicious live stage show Sunday, Feb. 11, at 3 p.m. Entries may be submitted by commenting on the Facebook Pinkalicious contest post at facebook.com/aetntv. Arkansas residents will have a chance to win a family four-pack of tickets to the performance.
The contest will run through Thursday, Feb. 8. A winner will be selected by random drawing. AETN will respond to the winning commenter's post on Facebook. The winner will have 24 hours to claim the Pinkalicious prize pack.
There will be two additional Pinkalicious performances at Reynolds for schools on Monday, Feb. 12, at 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. More information about all three performances is available at uca.edu/publicappearances.
