Join us at Toad Suck Daze in Conway May 4-5 to meet PBS KIDS characters Splash and Bubbles and Duck and Dog from "WordWorld." Visitors can take photos with the characters in the Tinkerfest area on Oak Street.

Join us Saturday, May 4, 9:30-11:30 a.m., and Sunday, May 5, 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m., Toad Suck Daze, downtown Conway.

"Reel South: Ingrid"

Ingrid Gipson was a successful fashion designer who gave up her big city career for a reclusive life of solitude and unhindered creativity in Arkansas's rural Ouachita Mountains. This film purposefully explores her current world as she lives off the land, works on her homestead, and makes art from natural materials.

2019 AETN PBS KIDS Writers Contest winners announced

Children in kindergarten through third grades recently participated in the AETN PBS KIDS Writers Contest, which helps build literacy skills through writing and illustrating original stories. First, second and third place winners were chosen from each grade by a panel of judges, and two educators who submitted entries for their entire classes were also chosen for special prizes.

Student Filmmakers Showcase

Join AETN for the Student Filmmakers Showcase, which highlights scholarship and prize-winning films from "Student Selects: A Young Filmmakers Showcase," at Ron Robinson Theater May 13. "Student Selects" gives Arkansas student filmmakers the opportunity for possible broadcast, streaming, screenings, scholarships and prizes.

Classic British Drama

Tune in during May for the return of "The Jewel in the Crown" and "The Forsyte Saga." Adapted for television in 1984, "The Jewel in the Crown" is set in northern India in the last uneasy years of British rule. In "The Forsyte Saga," released in 2002, love is a polygon that shifts like a kaleidoscope.
