Beyond The Music Hall - Educational Outreach at the ASO

The Arkansas Symphony Youth Orchestra Ensembles seeks to attract the very best student-musicians in the state. Coming from over 36 communities, the four groups practice several times monthly and play six times yearly. All groups are coached by members of the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra, and the culmination of this collaboration is the annual Side by Side Concert, where members of the ASO are stand partners with members of the ASYO. There are yearly master classes and residencies with world renowned musicians such as Midori, Rachel Barton Pine, Daniel Bernard Roumain and Augustin Hadelisch. The Youth Orchestra collaborates often with the Ballet and other community groups and performs yearly in Hot Springs Village. This year's highlights will be the Ballet and Youth Orchestra performing Swan Lake in the fall, as well as the Rachel Barton Pine Residency featuring the Youth Rock Orchestra in the spring.
