In the past several weeks we’ve had great fun reading and sorting wonderful and hilarious stories from more than 200 K-3 students across Arkansas. Now, after scoring, debating … and even a few tie-breakers, we’re ready to announce the 2014 AETN PBS KIDS Writers Contest winners!

Each story entered in the 2014 AETN PBS contest was judged on originality, creative expression, storytelling and integration of test and illustrations. As you read through them, you’ll see just how difficult our judges’ jobs were!

But this isn’t the very end of the contest - all of our first place Arkansas winners have been entered in the national PBS KIDS Writers Contest where they will compete against other state and area winners from across the country. Fingers crossed that we’ll see some of these great Arkansas stories in the announcement of the national winners in July!

Mother’s Day With Anne and Marilla
Mothers come to us in all shapes and sizes. Some are there from the very beginning, and others come to us later in life to show us the exact sort of love that we’ve always needed. This Mother’s Day, celebrate that special bond with an “Anne of Green Gables” marathon and a few of our favorite Anne and Marilla moments.

Meet Jet Propulsion at the Bentonville Film Festival

We’ll join our partners from the Bentonville Film Festival at the Bentonville Public Library from 10-11:30 a.m.

Guest Blogger Nick Harrington: My AETN Internship Experience
I have to admit that I didn’t really know what to expect when I first applied for an internship here at AETN. In the past, I had worked internships that were mostly busy work. AETN was different. I was actually helping to contribute. Overall my experience at AETN was a great one and I’d highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great starting point in looking for a career.

Chuck’s Blog – “Exploring Arkansas” May 2016
“To the Bat Cave, Robin!” That was a classic line in the old “Batman” TV series, and we visit Batesville to go there - in a sense - and then make stops at Gravity Hill, the Josephine Tussaud Wax Museum and Mount Magazine in a brand new episode of “Exploring Arkansas”! Come with us on Wednesday, May 4, at 6:30 p.m.
