Do you know an 11-14 student who loves films, writing and design? Maybe a 7-10 year-old who would love hands-on experience in researching, recording and reporting his or her findings in an online newspaper? This summer, they can join the AETN Youth Academy for Production Camp, June 17-21, or AETN Youth Academy Reading and Writing Camp, July 22-26. Students from both camps will join AETN staffers and volunteers to tour the studios and spend a week learning about the behind-the-scences workings of the production and reporting worlds.

Kids who participate in Production Camp will get to spend an action-packed week creating material and attending special sessions to learn the arts of scriptwriting, set design, video editing, lighting and more. Our community partners, including the Arkansas Attorney General and friends from the University of Central Arkansas, will also stop in to take the workshop to the next level.

In Reading and Writing Camp, our junior reporters will take part in a well-rounded camp that includes journaling, drama and technology activities that draw from a wide variety of PBS resources, We’ll also be working with exciting community partners, including 501 Magazine, the Arkansas Democrat Gazette, the Arkansas Attorney General, Conway Police Department and more!

Don't miss the fun! You can sign up for camp today by completing the registration form linked below and returning it to AETN by May 31, 2013. Spaces are limited and registration costs are $149 per participant for each camp.
