Free Concert by Rodney Block & The Real Music Lovers on July 1

Rodney Block & The Real Music Lovers will perform in a free concert in AETN Studios on Monday, July 1, at 7 p.m. 

Start Independence Week off the right way with groovy, upbeat, hip-hop jazz and a free concert by Rodney Block & The Real Music Lovers! Along with surprise guests, the group is set to give another standout performance on Monday, July 1, at 7 p.m. in AETN Studios. Come grab your seats when the doors open at 6:30 p.m. We know they'll be going fast!

Taped in celebration of the 10th anniversary season of "AETN Presents" (which will premiere in November), Rodney and the gang are bringing a high energy party to our headquarters' studios. Block, a native of Dumas, and his core ensemble -including Sam Carroll on keyboards, Jonathon Burks on drums and Oliver "OT" Thomas on bass - have been performing together across Arkansas, the South and abroad for five years. Their unique sound and bond show in their latest album, "Steel," and are sure to come across on the stage. From up tempo jazz to ballads - including pieces from the new album - it's a show not to be missed!

Through a grant from PBS and the Verizon Foundation, AETN Early Childhood Education has been proud to partner with Pine Bluff School District elementary schools to hold the PBS KIDS ScratchJr Camp. This camp, which directly addresses the Arkansas Department of Education’s goals to integrate computing concepts into the classroom, is revolutionary because it supports critical thought processing with computational thinking and problem solving. Learn five ways that Pine Bluff is laying the groundwork for students to achieve basic computer coding after the jump!
