Visit Buddy the dinosaur at Museum of Discovery Tuesday, March 20
Posted on 06 Mar 2012
AETN has partnered with the Museum of Discovery to bring Buddy the T. Rex from PBS KIDS hit series Dinosaur Train to the museum during spring break. Meet Buddy Tuesday, March 20, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Buddy will arrive at the museum courtesy of the Arkansas Trolley Company and will make appearances throughout the day for photos. Dinosaur Train episodes will also be shown.
If you haven't had a chance to get down to the Museum, here's your chance - get this fabulous treat of a museum (not just for kids…SO much learning and fun for everyone) and Buddy too. The Human Body exhibit is still my fave, and maybe this time I'll be brave enough to enter the 'tornado' room…although I make no promises my friends. Buddy and I may stick with the bed of nails, the intestine pull and creepy crawlies safely tucked behind glass. This place is an absolute first class gem for all of Arkansas.
The museum will be open its normal business hours, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and admission will only be charged to visitors going beyond the lobby. General admission is $10 for ages 12 and up, $8 for ages 1 to 11, and free for members and children under 1.
Dinosaur Train, the award-winning and critically acclaimed animated preschool series from The Jim Henson Company, airs weekdays at 8:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. on AETN. In Dinosaur Train, young viewers join Buddy the T. Rex and his adoptive family of Pteranodons on whimsical adventures through prehistoric jungles, swamps, volcanoes and oceans as they unearth basic concepts in natural science, natural history and paleontology. The Dinosaur Train is a colorful locomotive, customized to accommodate all kinds of dinosaurs, and it has the ability to visit the Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous worlds, while the Trains Conductor, a knowledgeable Troodon, provides passengers with fascinating facts along the way.
There is also a Dinosaur Train interactive website at PBSKIDS.org/dinosaurtrain. Children can join Buddy, Tiny and all their friends as they discover natural history and the science of paleontology through fun games and activities.
You can catch Dinosaur Train on AETN weekdays at 8:30 a.m. and 1 p.m.
