Will Social Security and Medicare be there for you?

Posted on 28 Nov 2011

Social Security graphicAccording to AARP Arkansas, more than 600,000 Arkansans rely on Social Security and/or Medicare benefits. No state has a higher percentage--63 percent-- of older Americans relying on Social Security for 50 percent or more of their family income.

The Social Security Administration recently announced a 3.6 percent benefit increase for 2012 and is the first COLA since 2009. Medicare is not only a concern for seniors, but also for doctors, hospitals and other health care providers.

To learn more about what this means for you, be sure to watch "Will Social Security and Medicare be There for You?" tomorrow night. The program will feature a panel discussion featuring experts from numerous state agencies and organizations.

"Will Social Security and Medicare be There for You?" airs Tuesday, Nov. 29, at 7 p.m.
