Arkansas's National Wildlife Refuges

Host Chuck Dovish takes viewers on a tour of Arkansas’s National Wildlife Refuges. Arkansas harbors 10 national wildlife refuges, scattered throughout the state, with nine having public access.

These refuges are specially designated areas within the National Wildlife Refuge System that have been set aside to conserve and protect America's fish, plants and wildlife.

Each refuge is managed by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, a federal agency charged with conservation of wildlife, as well as facilitating recreational opportunities that include hunting, fishing, birding, photography, environmental education and refuge wildlife interpretation. Arkansas has over 330,000 acres of these unique and important wetlands.
